The only negative to tally is how far away it is from major cities. Outside of that it’s a great place to watch a game and tailgate
You are in a tough area...I figured Ellicott City as a starting point...pretty much takes you over to I-81 via I-66 or I-70. You might book two separate cancellable reservations. If a noon kickoff drive to Roanoke area Friday night. If a 3:30pm or later kickoff book a Saturday night 30-90 mins north of Blacksburg. Our TV time won't be announced until 6-13 days out...then cancel the reservation you don't need.Hey Mark, we would be coming from Howard County, MD, so driving would be the only realistic option since there aren't direct flights from BWI to Roanoke. Will probably be a couple months before we finalize travel plans.
I have a wedding in Charlottesville on October 16. That put the Clemson game in serious doubt for me, but may have a creative solution. Booked hotel in C'ville for Friday and Saturday night. Wife will drive down with her sister on Friday. We're going to head to Virginia Beach for the week, should be quiet during the offseason and we can hope for some slightly above average weather. Then into Blacksburg the day before the Va. Tech game. Booked hotel in Christianburg - says it's 7 miles away. Challenge will be spending the entire week with my wife and my sister-in-law chatting about anything BUT football, so I'll be more than ready for the tailgate in B'burg!
Hokie Mark VTech will find out that lollipop sticks aid in lining up field goals in the Dome. Our new A/C I heard has directional wind control on demand too. Dino has the remote control. The first few times you sprint at high altitude, you get winded faster. Eventually the body produces more red blood cells to compensate for the thinner air - but not in one day.
Oh, punts fly further, too.
You know me so well! You always find a way don’t you? Lol!
can’t wait for football season this year! It’s going to be a blast!
I guess the Hokies will just have to go for 2 after every touchdown, then?Hokie Mark VTech will find out that lollypop sticks aid in lining up field goals in the Dome. Our new A/C I heard has directional wind control on demand too. Dino has the remote control.
Hokie Mark you forgot about lollipop gate?I guess the Hokies will just have to go for 2 after every touchdown, then?
(Wait, it just occurred to me... VT won't play in the dome until at least 2025... why would Syracuse give the A/C controls to a former head coach?)
Hokie Mark you forgot about lollipop gate?
Anyone remember "Lollipopgate?"

The windy Dome
The Post-StandardMaybe they need to get some gauges in the Dome to measure wind speed? The Associated PressFirst, it was Greg Schiano at Rutgers complaining about the turf. Now, Washington coach Tyrone Willingham (above) says funny things happen in domed...www.syracuse.com
BTW, with a 14 team league I'm a huge fan of the 3/5/5. It is a crime we play coastal teams so little.
