Possible new coaches

Isnt Beau Benzschawel an all big 10 type player now? Or is that a different player we lost to them?

I don't think it is fair to cite Beau Benzschawel as an example period, let alone a prime example. Benzschawel was a Wisconsin legacy recruit. The second Wisconsin beckoned, he was going. Had he bailed on Syracuse for Michigan State or whoever else, he'd be a good example (and he very may well have, I don't know). But as it played out, he committed to Syracuse without a Wisconsin offer and flipped almost immediately after he got the offer. His father and uncle played football at UW. His grandfather was president of the alumni foundation. He grew up in Wisconsin.

Much like how everyone knew Scott Frost was going to Nebraska the second Nebraska beckoned, Syracuse had to know that Benzschawel was going to flip to Wisconsin the second Wisconsin offered.

You're right BB is a bad example and there is no reason why we can't land 2-3 quality Ohio kids per cycle. Ton of talent in that state and it's no different in how hard it is recruited than PA or Jersey are.

We have? From Ohio? In terms of players who produced there was Delone Carter (Akron area) and Anthony Smith (YTown area) but that was a decade ago. I might be forgetting others.

USF fans not happy with Gilbert’s Play calling?? ! Many of the fans must not understand much about football and USF football. In 2016 they were 11-2 a huge step down in 2017. (sarcasm intended).

Gilbert was DB’s OC and QB coach in 2014 at Bowling Green. Why he’d want to come here is very questionable IMHO.

Zero clue why you replied to me with your comment. I’m not the one who said USF fans weren’t happy with him.
 
How about Auburn OL Coach Herb Hand? Grew up in CNY. Tons of experience as an OL coach and as an OC.

No idea if he still has any CNY ties to where he’d leave a program like Auburn though.

That’s him. The minute Wisconsin offered we were dead. His dad played there and most of his family were alum. As soon as he committed to SU they got interested and offered him and it was over. Between him and Cabinda(thanks for giving PSU scholarships back, NCAA) we lost two excellent players
