If anyone is interested in one of the Hofstra games, here they are against board favorite Rick Pitino and St. John's.
I don't know what level of interest we've actually shown in Carlos (the PG), what kind of role we might be interested in for him, etc., but he looks like exactly the type of PG that coaches love. I wouldn't at all be surprised if our staff views him as a winning player, tone setter, etc. Boxes out, helps and communicates on defense, pushes tempo when the numbers are there but comes to the ball and handles it like a floor general, instantly hounds the ball handler the second they pick their dribble up...I've only been watching for 10 minutes so far and he's done so many of the little things that coaches hound players about. Just going off his numbers and the scouting report of the poster above that actually watches Hofstra frequently, he's probably not what we have in mind as a starting PG because I think we probably need someone that can really create his own shot (and also create for others), but yeah, I wouldn't be surprised at all if coaches like the idea of bringing him in.
Dubar was pretty impressive too though some of the shots he was hitting against St. John's felt kinda flukey/inconsistent but if you squint really hard it feels a little like watching the good and the bad of RJ Barrett facing NBA players. If we can get guys like this to come off the bench here, that would be excellent. I can't really imagine a starting spot being available to Dubar and starting Carlos probably wouldn't be ideal (but the PG spot is obviously up for grabs).
