We didn’t get the run game going which is disappointing. I think Nixon needs less carries.

Why is it that when we blitz it is picked up with ease but when others blitz us our OL acts like when Jackie Moon invented the allyoop?

If you told me Reese had only 2 sacks after the first 3 games I would be disappointed. The TEAM only has two right now.

A blind squirrel should get 2-3 TFL a game. It is almost impossible to achieve what we do with our front 6/7.
Well in the run game’s defense. We were also without our best running back.

Even when Shafer was running the smurf defensive backfield we still had some very good LB's and a decent DE or 2.
True, but his defenses also had some real stinkers. The defense against GT was as bad of a defensive game as any I've seen from an SU team.

Against UCONN and Colgate. The rest of the schedule is demonstratively more difficult, starting next week when we get absolutely dog walked against Clemson.
How many 400 yard games McCord have last year against a much weaker schedule. If anything it's a good sign. I think the offense can be pretty good.

Very strange, considering it's arguably the easiest position to recruit for. I know we typically only play 2 LB's, but it's amazing with a roster this size we don't have at least 1 dude at the position.
Deslauriers is fast becoming a dude...

Others on Dude Watch: Jamie Tremble, David O, Caden Brown

LBs won't get all the way there this year, but it could be Dude Ranch quicker than you think.

We played weaker teams than Colgate and UConn? Colgate, I think it’s safe to say that’s the worst team we’ve played during Fran’s short tenure. UConn, let’s put a pin in UConn right now and circle back when we have a bigger sample size.

People are trashing the D, but we only gave up 3 points and not many yards in the first half. They pulled their starting QB by halftime.

The second half was a different story. The defense didn't bother to show up in the 3rd quarter. But they were not that bad early in the game. Lots of overreaction on here.

Starting as a true Frosh i would say he’s doing ok, but other than the last 2 plays of the UConn game has he popped off the screen any other time? I wish Caden Brown would get some run but if he’s not playing with this group that’s not a good sign.

i agree Tremble is a dude. Him and Samuels seems to have the highest floor from just a raw physical attributes standpoint.

Deslauriers made a huge jump from TN to UCONN, he was the highest rated defender in the UCONN game.
I agree he has work to do but it was encouraging to see him make a big jump in week 2.

Why did SU start the second half going left to right (as seen from the Home side), after going L-R in the second quarter? I was trying to remember if I’ve over seen that before.

And how about in the 4thQ when the Colgate team ran out onto the field for the kickoff and half of the team went to the wrong side of the field? That was funny right there.

Weird thing to say since Clemson might be one of the weaker teams we have left to play.

The good:
Gill and JRS are fun to watch.
Young wide receivers look like ACC receivers
Tremble might be a stud on defense
Braheem Long and Samuel might be the play makers the defense is looking for.
The bad:
Angeli almost threw two early picks. He has to be more careful.
Nixon didn’t look good against Colgate. He fumbled and jumped around too often. Not all his fault, which leads to
The ugly
Line play. Incredibly disappointed in both lines. Neither line could establish a push against an average FCS team. Angeli got hit hard a few times while in the pocket. That can’t happen against an opponent of Colgate’s caliber.
No one on the defensive line stood out. The lack of pash rush is going to be a huge problem. Cade Klubnik will slice the defense to shreds if he has all day. Very worried teams will average 40+ points against this defense unless the lineman improve.

Uconn won the toss, right? If they take the ball, then we have to choose to receive in the 2nd half. Which means they choose which end to defend.

Colgate won the toss and took the ball. SU gets ball to start the second half. But Colgate doesn’t get to pick their direction again do they? Doesn’t it just continue alternating from the first half?
