Post game thoughts...

Not what I said. I said I’d take a win over either over winning tonight. Obviously I want to win every game but we need a statement win.
Sorry for misinterpreting your post. I agree but even if Hughes is 100%, which is doubtful, SU will be heavy underdogs in both games and at a total disadvantage in athleticism.

I believe that there is an 'Ignore' function, but I haven't partaken.

Me neither, if I didn't like a certain member's posts or they were too long or whatever, I could always just skip them. I'm just trying to offer a constructive alternative to help those calling for bans to have a more enjoyable experience.

that's what I do as well. to each his own, though

Im not trying to do a schtick. I’m legitimately curious.

I might not agree with you on this post, but I do admire your courage if you'd seen the call for bans of such posters(not just their posts) in the game thread.

This team doesn't get cheated when it comes to excruciating losses.

So there's that.

For positives you could also add that it makes the wins feel that much better and appreciated, unlike when we were more spoiled, or fans of other programs still are.

joe G3 is a kid who wants to win. see it every game. don't know his ceiling. this may be it. but he is one tough competitor.
Agreed he is one tough player who wants to win. I wasn't able to tune in until one hour into the game and thus did not see what happened to Hughes and when he left the game -can you help with that?

This defense is brutal. NC State shooting 52% from the field and 44% from three is a statistical defensive train wreck. Mind-bendingly, SU did force an impressive 19 turnovers, without which this game would never have been close. And in my opinion, SU forced most of those -- it was not just Wolfpack ineptness.

Syracuse has exceeded my expectations in close games. Mainly because, in my head, I never expect them to win a close game because I never trust them to get a big stop or two when they need it. Bottom line, they can not make the NCAAs with this bad a defense and it has been apparent all year. They cut your heart out so often, yet I will keep watching because this gang does battle to the highest point of their limited abilities.

I was really pleased with the team tonight - Marek could have been better, and we definitely needed more out of him.

  • Girard - I thought he was great. He's competent enough with the ball, and gritty - and gave us what we need out of him tonight. All those minutes playing reckless like that has to hurt though at some point. Helped out on the boards and was aggressive throughout. He's erratic, but hit some big shots whilst also taking some bad ones. That's his game right now though - and he stepped it up.
  • Goodine - I thought he played well enough. Clearly needs to practice better to earn more PT.
  • HoWas - I don't think he played.
  • Buddy - Buddy was better than I would have expected tonight against decent defensive pressure, and no Hughes. I was surprised by the god-awful turnovers. That I really didn't expect - everything else, pretty much what I would expect. Can't complain about as good as he could be under the circumstances.
  • QG - Just played an outstanding game - outstanding effort. Felt like he had 16/10 with about 10 minutes to go, and then outside of an occasional touch at the three point line, seems like we went away from him for reasons I don't agree with.
  • Sidibe - I'm not sure he played today - was a little disappointing overall.
  • Edwards - Fought hard, good at getting deflections, had a nice catch on a long pass from Girard, did about what I could expect.
  • Marek - He could have stepped it up a bit more. QB, Girard, really did, we needed one more guy, and that had to be MD. He was okay, but on offense wasn't there enough.
We have some serious issues at the top of the zone.
Thought coaching left something to be desired.

Did you just drop like 5 tabs of E?

And/or rip a few huge rails of blow??

Because it would require some serious mind & mood-altering substances to paint that rosy a picture of tonight.

so, enjoy! And don’t Bogart all the good stuff!
;)

The end of the game certainly wasn't a thing of beauty. I should have included that note!

It looks like an NIT season with our OOC and the ACC being what it is. Don’t see much chance of NCAA. But still get there shot in the ACC tournament. Goal should be to get better and have momentum for 2020/21.
