Syracuse football has not put out a depth chart since the beginning of the spring I believe and i'm guessing likely won't until probably just before the first game. At least this is what happened last year IIRC. Edit: they may have only put out a new roster and not even a Spring depth chart. I don't really see any up to date ones on-line anywhere with a quick google search. So I just created my best guess at one. Just wanted to see every position laid out. I only included some true freshman, mostly just ones that were early enrollees. I have E. Ross under both outside WR spots as I think he gets some PT before some others and could come in at either spot. I think all others are players are listed in just one spot.

Only comment is I don’t expect Tremble to jump Villari and Clement on the DC. They will flex depending on packages. Fully expect 89 will be on the field first snap.

Defense it doesn’t matter so much.
Yeah I could see that. Obviously that position would be situational. I feel like Tremble has the ability to be more impactful than Villari and Clement. We'll see how he progresses in the fall. But even if he gets more PT than the others, it wouldn't surprise me if he is still listed further down the depth chart. The TE spot kind of depends on what our offense looks like with Angeli instead of McCord and the almost completely new OL group.

At OL i'm not positive who the back-up C will be. Putting a true freshman Kahlil Stewart there who isn't even on campus yet seems a bit risky. Also it wouldn't surprise me to see Joe Cruz win a starting spot, possibly at Guard as he started a game there last year against Miami.

Thats what i was thinking, could see him at guard. Id be pretty suprised if Rice starts

What really stands out is the number of Jrs on the team. As someone who has a son that is named Guy Fawkes Jr, I applaud.

I'm hearing...

Jamie Tremble has been getting some work at LB. Not a lot of work but seems like they are experiementing with a longer more athletic Tremble. A situational adjustment? Not sure how much he weighs now.

Chase Simmons may have been move to TE. Probably think he can contribute more as a physical blocking TE than being buried in the depth chart at DE.

I'm hearing King Joseph may be on a break from the program to clear up a personal matter. Hopefully he's able to work things out and get back on track.

MLB: Bryant, Deslauriers, Sparrow...

WLB: Heard, McDonald, ZMG

CB1: Peal, Kerr 1, Andrews, Vermuelen/Trotter

CB2: Samuel, Delaine, Singleton, Kerr 2

Star: Martin/McDaniels splitting 1s and 2s reps, Caden Brown (been here since spring, but might be moved back to LB), corners Delaine and Kerr 1 are splitting the 4s reps (anticipating a dime package adjustment getting our best cover guys on the field). Grant has not been working at Star

FS: Buxton/Chestnut/Grant* (appears to be an interchangeable rotation right now), Perry, Porter/Bredell

SS: Buxton/Chestnut/Grant, Long, Haile (moved from WR), Washington

* Will they leave Grant at FS/SS? IMO, all three (Grant, Buxton and Chestnut) could play Star.

It's summer so it's pretty fluid right now. I think we have more guys reporting after the 4th of July weekend.

I was going to state something similar. We have 9 Jr's on the team and 8 of them are on defense including all 4 of my projected starting defensive lineman. It’s like there is a correlation between first borns males and protecting your endzone.

I’d be shocked if Grant and Chestnut aren’t in ink starters.

Clement is starting tight end for now. Also weatherspoon is right tackle now. The left tackle battle is between Pringle and Trevion Mack.
Villari was out in the spring. I can see them giving Villari an HB role. fFormational flex guy, FB, Wildcat, wing TE.

Tight end, WLB and corners have been my concern for a while. Hoping we can sure something up with a solid tight end option, moving guys around tells me there not 100% on a guy yet.

Hope Caden brown gets more reps at linebacker he’s got the size to contribute, I thought In the limited reps he played last year he looked ok.

Just not a lot of experience is all. We have 6 running backs on scholarship alone.
Having guys on scholarships and having players are 2 different things. I only see 1bonafide RB who has a chance to be great, 1 coming off a serious injury , and then a whole lot of question marks. I think Willis can be a star this year, but if he gets hurt we’re in trouble at the position. I don’t know how you can ever not have 3 ready to contribute RB’s. It’s the easiest position to recruit.

Terrible to hear about King Joseph. Was really hoping for a breakout year. This is typically the year guys who are going to be players make their move. Who knows if we ever see him again. Will be a shame, but another year of not producing and he’s already a junior. Between him and Barnes both are big recruiting hauls are now no longer at school.

Defense seems to have a glaring hole at LB, another position that is easy to recruit? Duce, Grant, Buxton, Samuels seem locked in at 4 of the 5 DB positions. We have a good DL rotation but nobody that jumps off the page as someone who can get to the QB. Not to harp on it but was really hoping KJE would make that move.

Defense seems solid and deeper than usual, just no names that pop off the page like last year with Barron, Wax, Diggs, etc

On paper the OL seems the strong point on offense, which is strange thing to say.

QB, if we’re being honest is hopeful, but certainly not a give in.

Willis can be a star at RB but little else behind him.

WR looks good. JRS needs to step up and be the next 1,000 yard WR assuming the QB can get him the ball. Gill is a nice complement, but we really need someone like Ross come into his own and make a name for himself. Otherwise, there are some serviceable names, but i don’t see anyone that is going to change games.

Had similar hopes for Tremble taking a huge sophomore leap at TE as i did for KJE, Ross, and Willis. Sounds like Tremble is leaning more towards the former than latter, which is disappointing. We need another receiver you can count on. The rest of the TE’s are blockers.

Offense can win with a workhorse like Willis and a vastly improved OL. I think we’ll see the exact opposite as last year where we focus on the run and controlling the ball. That would make it easier for Angeli and take pressure off the receivers. I’m just worried about running Yasin into the ground.

Defense should hold its on.

The schedule doesn’t help breaking in so many question marks and the talent level we’ll face will be better than ours. We can still win any game on culture and grit alone. Really looking forward to a full year plus worth of DART. Sometimes having a better culture is just as good as having better athletes. The season will be interesting. Can go either way or right down the middle. I won’t be surprised at anything.

You having an opinion only 1 could be great and knowing for a fact only 1 can be great is 2 different things. Willis is running back 1. Nixon was very good last year those 3 games and he has the same injury OG had and look how OG did last year. The rest of the running backs are young how can you say they won’t be great when you haven’t seen them play?

And to add to the running backs Hart was getting reps with the 1’s during spring. The other two Malachi’s were running track but also learning playbook.
