During our resident advisor training we learned a lot about the judicial system and how it works and yes, even if Michael Carter Williams is found completely innocent he can get in trouble. There's a code in the student conduct that involves tarnishing the reputation of Syracuse University and even if you did nothing wrong if it makes the papers you can still get in trouble because technically you "hurt" SU's reputation.
