Personally, I vote "no". We've had too many good teams go down in flames in the NCAA tournament. We have GOT to cash in one of these opportunities. Anything less than a Final Four this year, and I will personally consider it a wasted opportunity. And you?

Meh, I would say anything less than the elite 8. Getting beat by say UNC/Ohio State, someone like that in the elite 8 and I think you have to look at it as a successful year. I would be disappointed if we dont make it ot the FF but if we make the elite 8 and get beat I have to look at it as a successful season.

I realize the pom poms will be out to defend any loss (hey, it was a bad matchup, cant blame JB!!!)...but, anything less than elite 8 is an EXTREME dissapointment and I feel like this team should really be Final Four minimum.

Yep, final four or shame. Elite8 wouldnt be awful though. We have to nip the reputation of underachieving tourney flameouts.

Absolutely Final 4 or bust. I mean, we have not been to the elite 8 since the magical 2003 season (and that was basically due to a guy who was here one year), but our continued in season success (not just starting and fading a bit in Big East play) makes this year prove that Cuse was not a one-hit tournament wonder. I know everyone wants and believes we can/should win a National Title, but a championship is such a crapshoot. So, Final 4 or bust proves Beoheim can have real post season success. In depressing honesty, it has been a disaster for 8 years in a row now.

Final Four. I know our players won't be satisfied with anything less than the National Title, but I could live with a Final Four. Even as I type this, I fear for our collective sanity should we fall short, but I'm sure we would compose ourselves in a decade or two.

I'd have less problem with an Elite Eight loss to one of the other top teams as long as we played a good game. Best example I could give would be the Elite Eight Illinois game in 1989. A great game that unfortunately went the wrong way.
I'd have a bad time with a poor game loss against a lesser opponent at any point in the tournament.

If you had asked me the same question before the season started, I would have said yes, an Elite Eight would be a successful season. But now that we have been ranked #1 or #2 for three months straight now, with an RPI of #1 basically all season, there is only one answer here---a resounding NO !!! Gotta be dancin' on Bourbon Street.

Considering that I plan on attending two victories in Boston, then heading down to Bourbon Street the following weekend--F4 is what I want to see.

Man getting all the way to the FF and losing on Saturday would be absolutely heart-breaking, considering it's been so long since we've been there. I don't know if I could deal with that.

I'm tired of flaming out early. An 'elite' program needs to get back there. Not past Sweet 16 since 03 is not good enough. In the near future we will get to the Final 4 just hopefully it's this year. So Final 4 for me.

The team has already had a successful season no matter what happens the rest of the way. Bad things can happen to good teams in the tournament. If Syracuse exits early, I will be disappointed, but it won't take away from what is shaping up to be their best regular season ever. I'm not a "championship or bust" fan, like so many of my fellow Yankee fans. I've learned to enjoy the ride because it often ends before one wants.

I'm the same way at this point. We might finish the regular season with 1 loss and a Big East Regular Season title, I'd call that a success.

Obviously the national title is the prize; but I'd hate to let 1 bad game in March to ruin the other 30 where we played well.

I think you are naive in this statement. Moral victories feel good, but rings look good. Was this season semi-successful? Yes. However, championships and final fours are how programs are defined.

For example, UConn still has three championships. Even with these sanctions, they still keep the rings. We were banned from the NCAA tournament for two years in the early 90s and it has not defined us; it seems like too early of exits have begun to.

We need to be playing on monday night April 2 anything less is a disappointing end to the season. That being said this will be a successful season just by the way this team has played all year. At the beginning of the year we thought they might be special and even with all the distractions they have been. I want them to win the championship because they represent what being a team really is, there is no I in team.

happens in the tournament and great teams lose early. But, anything less than an Elite 8 would be a huge disappointment.

It is hard to accept anything less than a FF & call it a successful season at this point in time.

There would be no reason why as a probable #1 seed that we should accept an early round tournament upset & be satisfied.

A NC is still tough because you will still have to win two more games once you get to the FF against either "equal" or "on a roll" competition.

To expect to be the best out of 344 teams is naive to me. Of course I would rather win championships, but as a fan, if I define success as winning championships, I would have been disappointed in every year of my life except for one. Success for me is about the hours of hope and enjoyment I get from following this team.

Well, personally, I'm tired of " happening" to us almost every year. Cash that chip, Jimmy B !! New Orleans of bust !
