Postgame SMU… final of 2024-25

I gotta give some credit for any of you that stuck it out this season and stayed paying attention and watching. I gave up a long while ago, figured I’d tune in tonight, it proved how dedicated you are if you stayed engaged watching that trash all season. What a pitiful, pathetic team that is. Not a thing looked different than it did in December when I last watched them.
They’re professionals they better. Thats like a
Giving credit to a student who got a c in the first test and remains in the class.

Time for red to be fired. Not a second too soon. We need to jump on the market

If he comes back, he should not be in any conversations in the coming months about playing time. Think of him as a walk on practice player.
I looked forward to the game by game speculation of whether he’ll play and Red’s comments around him getting close to being ready.

The few minutes he played and looked incredibly rusty and lost was sad. Also points to how bad Red was in evaluating his readiness or lack of.

His skill set before injuries gave us all false hopes of what this team could be with Chance being 100% and ready to play.

Did you guys see the comments by Red that the coverage of the team was too harsh this year? I find that really disturbing. The only thing he should be talking about is how to make the team better. The Syracuse media is Charmin soft. I can’t imagine how he can make that complaint. Was the team supposed to be praised for having a losing record and getting repeatedly blown out?

You can’t be serious with this comment. Do you know the Kline timeline at all?
Here we go. I know the timeline, as I posted (and people agreed with) on another thread.

Using your reasoning (and the person who was upset at an earlier post):
Kline just sits in his office 11 months a year and has/had no input on the team during the season. He's the "GM", which means "advanced scout", unlike Andrew Luck and/or Stephen Curry.

He uses analytics to identify the best players who will absolutely come to Syracuse because we're a destination, like the Knicks. Just like James Dolan, Syracuse has unlimited funds (up to the salary cap) to spend on high school recruits and transfers.

"A new position, the general manager supports Coach Autry in managing various aspects of the men’s basketball program at Syracuse. The primary responsibilities include scouting and recruiting, former student-athlete engagement, Name, Image, and Likeness (NIL) opportunities, transfer portal management, and institutional fundraising in collaboration with University Advancement.

In 2016, Kline became a basketball operations assistant with the New Orleans Pelicans of the NBA. During four-plus years with the Pelicans, Kline assisted with college scouting and player evaluation. He provided information used for the NBA Draft and free agency.

Kline was hired as a scout by the Knicks in 2020."

He is unfit on 100 different levels

Jaquan Carlos was our starting PG and all that guy's job was to scout and identify talent from other teams. There is no reason to keep him either.
It is a message board and the end of a putrid season with nothing much to pin any hope on for the future and so, I really should not care, but you have no idea what you are talking about.

Red cost us one month of caring about basketball.
For die-hard SU fans, we can only watch as our excuse of a team breaks for the summer - or actually forever.

And we await the next coming of God, in the shape of Kiyan.
And if Red costs us any more time of caring about basketball he will be gone (or at least he better be).

I get the emotion of the season ending, but generally got a sense of hopelessness from that press conference. Feel pessimistic if we will even be able to retain the pieces the staff wants to retain and upgrade in the portal without paying a we don’t trust you tax.

I agree with sufan...
Autry comes across as a coach with no answers...
the team had no "signature"...
there are so many facets of the CUSE bball program in need of repair...
gotta believe season tickets sales are going to be kind of weak.

What has made Wildhack keep Autry?
It's definitely nothing Autry could have said in some kind of meeting
when you listen to Red in a press conference.

If you invent a fictitious role for him and think he had anything to do with player evaluation last year before he was even hired, then sure, he's an utter failure.

He kept him because we can't afford to get rid of him. It's the most telling statement on our program and the biggest concern about the future. Success from here on out is going to be tied to $ and I don't think we are wired to compete that way for the long haul.
