Postgame Thoughts... UNC

The worst part of being bad is not getting to feel the anxiety of the tournament. My favorite part of being a sports fan.

We're not really "bad". We're kind of like the 2007 team. There are a lot of young guys. Not all will stick around, but they wound up in the NIT, too. Or maybe the 2002 team; another one full of young guys for the most part, learning how to play.

Wouldn't matter if not for having so many 07 level or worse teams over the last 8 years.

We’re not good either

That hurts about as much as a loss can hurt. We are not that bad. We are pretty damn good. UNC got a little lead going in the 2nd and we gave it right back to them. I don’t blame the refs. Control what you can. We could have ended that no matter how crappy the refs were. Total nightmare at the finish. Terrible to watch in the dome.

Why is it a ridiculous question? I want to why we can’t close games either, why do we continue to not give our best player a touch on the last play? Legit question.
I just don’t think some of these guys listen to other pressers. NFL coaches get like asked if they are going to fire their assistants to their face.

The refs were terrible. But the turnovers were killer. You can't have 17 and expect to win the game. This team goes too fast for its own good.

We don’t suck. We are not good. We just exist.

Yeah, but many of those poor teams of recent vintage had experienced players, better distribution among the classes. This year is a pretty young team, Joe & Jesse notwithstanding.

This team is likely going to lose It’s two best players. It’s another wasted season as far as I’m concerned. We have no center and no proven two guard next year.

Do I have the self control to smoke p ot and NOT eat 3 salted caramel and 2 cookie dough Yasso bars right now?

Dude, we let one slip at home vs. Carolina.

If you limit yourself to just 5 candy bars, rather than, say, 5 glasses of scotch, I'd say you've won.

"Why can't you win close games?" is different than "what can the team work on to close out games?" or "how can these young players improve in late game situations?" or something to that effect. He didn't need to walk out, but it wasn't dramatic or anything. (By the way, I would like to hear an answer too, so I'm not being contrarian here.)

Yeah, you're probably right. We're in this sort of purgatory.

If AW wants to throw NIL money around the biggest get for next season would be convincing Jesse to come back for his COVID year.

Or PG

Number 1, I think most of them will stick around, because it will be THEIR team. And I do think he'll make a jump. We need another young quality guard like the kid on the visit tonight, and we need a quality big man. I mean, real quality, not a kid from Dartmouth or Virginia Commonwealth; I want a legit big man from the Portal.
