Yep, I want a true SF that is a 3 point shooter. Anything we get from Donnie there will be a plus. And, Sadiq can sub in at either forward position, even if we lose a 3 point threat. If he comes in for Donnie, he can be a defensive demon and rebounder. If he subs in for the 3 and plays along with Donnie, he can be that same defensive demon and rebounder and allow Donnie to float to the 3 a bit. But, the two of them together should control the boards along with the right center while that transfer 3 gets a blow. Then that 3 comes in for Donnie and pushes Sadiq to the 4. That starts to sound like a rotation.
That's how I see it, too. Ideally, Donnie gets some time at the 3, but mostly I want to see him the high post. He can pick and pop, to get great 3 point opportunities from in front of the backboard, or he can roll to the rim. He can shoot from the foul line area. So many ways to use him.
He and Saddiq can play together for maybe 10 minutes a game, if you have an Elijah Hughes kind of SF, a Jesse Edwards+ at Center, and Petar as the backup. And, yes, you still have room for a situational shot blocker, too. That's a very good rotation, and Wilcox has a year to learn and develop.
Still would need a really really good PG and another wing shooter like that mid-major kid people were talking about the other day, the 6-5 kid from Drexel. Not sure if he's a starter or not, but he looks like a good prospect.
