I sadly don’t know. JB always had the Hardwood Club Dinner (usually held before the Conference tournament I think) and Coaches vs Cancer or Boeheim Foundation post season event. There was also a Syracuse University preseason Ms Orange Fan (women fans) Luncheon/Brunch for the Make-A-Wish charity with the SU team and coaches too. All were great events.

It seems like there’s a complete lack of engagement with the community and fan base. Maybe he did and it was quiet, but Red should’ve been out promoting the program and trying to rebuild the support like Fran has. That leads to fundraising and NIL support but that just has seemed like an afterthought for him.

If they got rid of the charity events, that’s just sad.

JJ
Slashing Wing
Better shooting Jyare Davis
Donnie

PG that can get to basket and play w above starting PG.
Kiyan but he reaches shooting potential fast
Sadiq
Petar
Baye Moussa Keita Lite

Fennell and Womack are not forced to play but it’s a good sign if they earn it. Three starting transfers need to be all better than JJ. Backup Transfer C can be pushed out of rotation by Sadiq and Petar playing up.

You do have to guard him from the three. That’s important. He was third team All Atlantic 10.

He’s a career 28% shooter on 250 attempts. Teams want him to shoot.

If the main goal is to speed the pace up and get more initiators on offense next to JJ, then I think Donnie needs to be trailing big. When he gets to half court, A 2 man game with a Pg with range and Donnie can work and I’d rather force the other team to continually force the ball down if necessary. Donnie can’t guard wings on athletic teams.

The hope is Donnie fills his body out more and gets more comfortable playing with his height. I have more faith with him using his length to be more effective defensively. It’s an extremely rare approach to consistently feed someone to bang down low anyway.
