Finishing the previous year unranked with an 18-12 record after squeaking in to the tourney as a 9 seed and losing in the first round will do that. The question is, how did a team with Mullin, Wennington, and Jackson do so meh.

Louisville does spend a significant amount of money on their athletic department but the turnaround is also coaching. Similar issue with SU team this year. School invested a lot of money will Red elevate his coaching with the influx of talent.

If that brutal stretch of 3-4 games goes terribly, we still have tons of opportunities to right the ship. College basketball is the most forgiving sport there is.

I’m cautiously optimistic that we have the roster this year to make some early season noise.

If we suck this year, it will be because we suck. It will have little to do with the schedule.

It’s not like college football where the team is just thrown to the wolves against Tennessee on Day 1. We have two exhibitions and then four home tune up games to prepare for Vegas.
