Yes, Joe made the mistake, but Jessie just needs to be a matador in that situation and give up the layup. He is absolutely not THE problem, but that was a dumb play.

If the practices are filled with the same targeted criticisms as the pressers, then yes I can see Jesse and Frank both choosing to leave.
When you open the presser with "Jesse has to stay in the game, he just can't commit those fouls", and "Frank just stood around, he wasn't giving us anything, so I had no hesitation about staying small since Jimmy could go around the guy guarding him". If I'm either of those players I'm like; "whatever, dude".

he did this last year as well until it hit the critical point then he went to the lineup that won and got us to the sweet 16. He doesn't have that option this year.

I have no doubt at least Jessie was doing well enough in practice to play minutes to avoid Marek playing C. No doubt at all. And I like Marek a lot, but he was not a C.

Honestly I think Boeheim basically not playing Edwards until he was absolutely forced to last year (teamwide foul trouble against Ga Tech) was worse coaching than any of his questionable coaching this year.
