I disagree. Down 28-9 with 8:00 left, 4th and long (9 yds), makeable FG distance (37 yds)...
I think Shafer just wanted to come away with some positive points in that situation and give Murphy some experience under live fire. At that point in the game, did you honestly think we had a chance to mount a comeback being 3 scores down?

I had no problem punting from the 37 after we lost 3 or 4 yards on 3rd down.If we didn't lose anything you go for it. The fg was the right call to cut defecit to 3 scores
