Class of 2020 QB Greg "Deuce" Spann II (FL) Portal to Pitt

He couldn't hit wide open WRs five yards away. You can't improve that.
someone needs to compare his passing numbers before he got leveled at the end of the Va Tech game to his numbers after that hit. rumored that he was injured on that hit

CUSE will/should bring in a transfer QB who fits Anae's gameplan/style because as of this point we have 3 Qbs.
So far as Shrader is concerned...he didn't play QB in 2020. In practice for the 1st 3 games. Devito,as starter, took the majority of snaps. Shrader is one tough hombre and I believe he was handicapped in both development and play calling by Gilbert. Would we be shocked to learn he had bruised/broken ribs after the shot he took at the end of the VT game? Those don't heal in a week or two.
It's very possible the incoming OC and Qb coach can improve Shrader's performance and come Aug 1, 2022, he's likely the starter to begin with AND we'll have an open competition at that point to determine the starter for game 1.
Fans saw several incidents of play calling/game clock mismanagement that could easily have cost us 2 games. We could have gone to a bowl game with Shrader. That's why Gilbert is currently unemployed.

Spann is a WR correct? I cant imagine we would make the mistake yet again, even with a new regime at OC, in bringing in an ATH type and expecting him to learn to throw. Let him play WR and get a QB with an arm.

I knew I remembered this guy! Anyways, he transferred to Pitt today. Was nothing really more than a KR at Florida State.

# 1 QB 6' 4" 208/ 4.49 40/BP 250/SR STATS: 1,937 YDS/117 - 253 / 25 TDS PASS/
6,972 YDS TOT O, 4,771YDS PASS, 45 TDS/ 2,165 YDS RUSH, 27 TDS
ASSETS PER HUDL SR FILM:

DUAL THREAT
VERY FAST
GOOD MECHANICS
BIG ARM
THREW HARD BALLS - NEEDED TO BE SHOWN HOW TO PUT TOUCH INTO HIS THROWS WHEN NEEDED
THREW ALL ROUTES 50 - 60 YDS EASILY
ACCURATE
VERY ELUSIVE
OUTRAN D
ESCAPED PRESSURES QAND HURRIES

OPINION * THIS IS A SHAME. THIS KID WAS THE DEAL AND HE LET HIMSELF BE TALKED INTO A DIFFERENT POSITION. SHOULD HAVE STOOD HIS GROUND AND PLAYED QB. HAD ALL THE SKILLS TO BE A GOOD ONE. WANTED TO PLAY FAST SO THEY PUT HIM AT WR GOOD HANDS @ QB OTHERWISE HE WOULD HAVE SAT WAITING BEHIND A 5 STAR QB.

I disagree. He already had an arm along with being very fast. Look at his film again! What a waste of a position. He just wanted to keep playing football, but his position was compromised buy coaches - they probably had a 5 star at FSU, and he would have been on the bench, The only reason he got on the field was because he was fast and was used to handling the ball.

Really?! I know - I thought I'd put up his Eval and stats anyway to show those on this board what we missed out on.
