Dungey is a career 61.5% passer. DeVito is at 60.6%. Who is/was the more accurate passer? You hit this out of the park. I have been saying the same for a while. I really liked Dungey but had my doubts about his accuracy and arm strength and I see this in this kid and he is only a senior in HS.
Dungey had a few long passes but most were swing passes, dump offs. I like to see over the middle, down the seam and post.Dungey is a career 61.5% passer. DeVito is at 60.6%. Who is/was the more accurate passer?
Note: As TD's sample size increases I fully expect his accuracy numbers to improve.

I would say arm strength is overrated. Accuracy and decision-making are hands down the most important aspects of any QB's game
I actually thought he struggled more on the sideline passes, such as screens, than throwing the ball down the field, where he was very accurateLove Dungey as much as anyone else, but sideline passes to Erv/Steve/Amba really help here

Since you all have reading comprehension issues your Dungey/Devito posts are now somewhere in the deleted ether of the internet. This is the Lamson thread...Keep it on Lamson.
Love the commit. I can see a little Dungey there, though that's a tough standard to meet. He doesn't need to be that good to be a very big part of this program's future.
I am super excited for this dude, and I think the comparisons to Dungey will prove not to be too far off
I certainly hope he is better then Dungey with arm strength and accuracy.
Comparison of stats for Ian and Justin in high school:I can see where people get a little bit of Dungey but he actually reminds me more of the kid who apparently helped steer him our direction: Ian Book. I'm not sure many people are familiar with Book here but the kid is a really smart, savvy QB with nice touch. His accuracy dipped (at least in terms of completion %) this past season, but he makes really good decisions. Flawless on the read option, which was particularly noticeable since the better athlete of the two -- Brandon Wimbush -- really struggled with making the right decisions there. Book moves around well enough -- can run the ball or buy time by sliding within the pocket or getting outside and running or looking downfield.
If you watch Lamson's film -- he's got really nice touch as well, moves well within the pocket, makes throws downfield on the run and can run with the football. Hard to say he's as good as Book, but he has the look of a kid who can compete right away, IMO. Maybe not start as a freshman necessarily, but compete for the backup role and certainly has the potential to compete for the starting role in year 2.
Not sure he'll be as tough as Dungey or as polished as Book. Doesn't have Tommy's arm strength -- at least not in that film. But I wouldn't be shocked if he's close to as good as book and better than Tommy when all is said and done. I hope Tommy proves me wrong and has an outstanding breakout season this year. There's a chance that happens, but I do really, really like Lamson as a potential successor.

Justin stands up pretty well so far.
Nice find. Yeah, they look similar to me. I remember watching Book's film in high school and liking him but being a little surprised he got an ND offer. Then I watched him play for about 5 plays in relief of Wimbush and realized he was by far the better QB (though I guess the lesser of the two athletically).Comparison of stats for Ian and Justin in high school:

Probably hurt by having just the one year as a starter. But I agree -- he looks like a really legit prospect to my admittedly amateur eyes.Check out Lamson's passer ratings...
If this kid isn't a legit 4-star prospect, I don't know who is.
That isn't what he meant. he meant...oh never mindI don't wish for anyone to blow up. That would be a tragedy.
The whomaker. After a year or two of Lamson, you are going to say TVD, who, Canadian kid who and Leonard who. I will be calling him QB Who
