Do you feel better? Did I or did I not say you could be right? Try to be less passive aggressive in your response. The fact is a.) he had an SEC offer as late as March and b.) had an offer from us so going to Akron only proves one thing its a bizarre recruitment.

I would not discount that he felt that going to Akron might be his best opportunity to get early playing time, and also might be the most NIL. That decision has no downside as he could always transfer if he has a great freshman year there and command more money than he could as a third or 4th stringer at Syracuse transferring with no tape. NIL and transfer rules, (along with potentially earlier playing time) have changed the landscape.

Quarterback recruiting is always the trickiest position.

People really need to keep in mind schools will say "we will offer you BUT it is not committable unless XYZ happens or you do 123" and some schools will do this to push other recruits to commit faster.

While we are prepared to extend an offer contingent upon a future point in the past becoming the present, it should be noted that said offer is non-binding unless and until Event XYZ (which may or may not occur depending on the successful completion of Action 123, which itself is subject to preconditional approvals and retroactive validations) is confirmed. Should Action 123 occur prematurely, the offer becomes simultaneously valid and invalid, pending a quantum audit. Please proceed accordingly, but not yet.
