This is a very amateur-ish observation and reaction. But...is it possible that our halfcourt struggles vs good teams on D with are related to lack of quickness? Especially with Waiters on the bench? With some of the sets we seem to run (pick 'n roll/pick 'n pop/motion) it seems like we are having to work very hard to get anything going. Some open looks haven't been going down but guys like Scoop/Triche/Kris (not 100%)/Fair aren't especially quick. It dosn't look like they can shed guys very easily with/without the ball. I think we have to work inside-out or keep running those high-lows and utilize the good passing abilities from some of our bigs. Thoughts?

I think the big problem when we start is that Scoop/Triche/Joseph/Rak and Melo all have the initial thought to go inside and attack the rim and it seems like we all try to do the same thing in the same area creating congestion and stuff. Additionally, that lineup does not cause as many turnovers and transition as well as the other lineup does. When CJ and Dion are in the game we have better spacing.

Melo and Xmas don't look to score so we're basically playing 3 on 5 on the offensive end. Against the cupcakes it doesn't matter since they can't contain the 3 offensive players. Against better teams its a problem. That's why CJ is coming in for Xmas after 3 minutes.

We dribble too much and don't pass into the post enough. I watched North Carolina last night, and one thing you've got to give them credit for, they really run good half-court offense and know how to feed the low post.

waiters with Triche and we are a quicker team with passing...less pounding the ball and therefore more passes and touches by different players...it works at end of games and would work at beginning

I think once Fab really starts to hit that next level our offense will light it up. He can be a force, maybe not right away, but it's coming. When we can play inside out, that is when we go from very very good, to powder keg. Right now there is too much indecision. We get to the mid range level and stop. Not good.
