There were at least a few on this board who said or somewhat implied that this Cuse team was the worst in some 40 years (laughable), plus other naysayers.

What say you now?

Don't give up on the team you love so easily!

Better to be proven wrong when it is a win.

No no no! I reject your premise! We WERE one of the worst teams. That's not subjective. We turned the corner with the Carolina game, and now we are heading in the right direction.
well, um, when our HOF coach is cut off from the team for a month...

Respectfully, if they were one of the worst teams, then they don't win tonight or blow out WF or turn the corner. "Worst" needs to be determined at the end of the season, not by some bad streak in the middle of it w/o JB too. Maybe this is classic "darkest before the dawn."

I don't think anyone thought they were the worst team in 40 years but that under Hopkins for stretches they just looked useless on both sides of the ball. What today's win shows is how good Jim Boehiem is, honestly Coyle should be trying to figure out how to get JB to stay until hes 80.

IN retrospect, I wish Hop would have left for a few years to get his coaching chops, then comes back when JB retired.

Agreed, but at least he got his feet wet and can hopefully make some adjustments when its "his" team. Either way im just glad JB is back, if anyone doubted how good a coach he is this season should put to bed any question about the fact that he is a hall of famer period.

As soon as we got back from the Bahamas, we began falling apart. Boeheim was with us for Wisconsin.

Nevertheless, dear Louisville, WE WON! Who cares????? Truce truce!

I never thought the team was bad. I just don't think Hopkins is HC material (may improve in 1-2 years, may flame out) and put JB in a heck of a hole to climb out of when he got back.

Now that JB is coach again it's like the team never missed a beat.

You're quoting me when you say this is one of our worst teams in the past 40 years.

At the time I said it, it was accurate. They're starting to turn a corner. Still a long, uphill battle to go. However, a game like tonight gives them a pulse.

Still have to find a way to win 6 or 7 more games. Let's hope they can continue to improve.

40 years is a long time but it looks like they have to avoid losing 14 games or more and going to the NIT which would give people justification. Hopefully this team continues to get better and squeaks into the tournament which would be a great accomplishment for this team!

Hopkins was put in the place of having to coach someone else's team. He couldn't mess too much with the formula because he had to hand the team back to its rightful owner after 9 games. To judge him on this interim is completely unfair.

If we make 60% of our free throws, we win two more.

Besides, we just won in Cameron! Enjoy the win.

This is still amongst the worst half dozen teams of the Boeheim era. But you are correct that it's too soon to label it the worst until we see how the season plays out.
