So, like many here, I've been to the Dome hundreds of times...But never after a recent knee scope for a torn meniscus. I will be in town for the Pitt game in a few weeks with some friends and while my walking should be a bit better by then I don't image it will be great. While the torn meniscus was NOT the acl tear I had 20 years ago, it has proved to be more challanging than I anticipated (granted, the scope was just this last monday)

Our seats are in the low 300's so, I will have to navigate some steps, which by then I am hoping I should be able to handle. What I won't be able to handle it that Hill. Does anyone have any suggestions on what might make the day easier for me? I do have a temporary ADA pass, but I think the only place that is feesable to use that would be skytop, which I have never parked at. Might anyone have any tips. It's a big weekend as it's a a yearly reuinion for me and some friends who all live in different areas; and hoping to be as little of a strain on them as possible.

Thanks in advance for any suggestions and Go Orange!

sky top is easy and that bus drops you right at the 300 level on the south side like 20yds to th3 door

Go to the handicapped section of skytop. They will take you right to the Dome. I'm not sure if you need a handicap sign to hang on your mirror. If you don't have one speak to the attendant at the gate and tell him your problem. Anyone in your vehicle will be allowed on the bus. Good luck and get better!!

I think this is worth talking with the Dome about.

I do know for people that have parking passes in the West lots and have extenuating circumstances, they allow you to drive right up to the Dome and be dropped off. Obviously this may not be an option for you but something I would certainly consider contacting the box office for and seeing if they can help you at all.

I have found it easier to take the sky top handicap bus in. much less traffic. and if yiu dont dally going out that bus is way faster leaving then trying to go out to west lots find a car then get back up by the dome to pick someone up.

Do I need a special pass ahead of time for skytop, or is it just a first come situation
I don't think you need a pass. You will have to show and display your handicap tag. I would call parking services to be safe.

They also give you a color card to keep and display to get back on the bus post-game.

For Syracuse Football games at the JMA Wireless Dome, accessible parking and drop-off accommodations are available to ensure a safe and convenient experience for all guests. Patrons with state-issued disability placards or license plates may purchase individual game accessible parking in the Skytop Lot (SKYD) for $35.
  • All parking is cashless. Guests may pay via credit card (including tap and pay), or through Google Pay or Apple Pay.

This lot offers ADA shuttle transportation directly to Gate A of the Dome. Additionally, for those who do not require parking but would like to drop off a guest with accessibility needs, a designated ADA drop-off location is available in the SKYD lot, located at 640 Skytop Rd., Syracuse, NY 13244. From there, guests can board the ADA shuttle for direct transport to Gate A. Return shuttle service from Gate A back to the SKYD lot is also provided following the conclusion of the game.

you can contact JMA wireless dome facilities & game transportation coordinator Rick Shaw about a lift.

Navigating the Dome, parking and the Quad can be a little tricky if you have any ambulatory issues. My wife has been using a walker for the past two years. I have had both knees scoped in the past two years and finally had a total knee replacement surgery a week ago.

We have season seats in the wheelchair section along the rail in 102 and a parking pass for the Irving Garage which allows you access to the ramp to the dome.

We are in California and will not be using our tickets until the end of the season (hopefully). The tickets are digital and will be posted for resale on Ticketmaster. The parking pass (a paper placard) was left with a friend in Syracuse in case someone could use them.

PM me. I’m sure we can work something out.

Just awesome stuff, thank you all so much. I may not know you but I love all my Orange brothers and sisters, what a great community we have. Thanks again.

You poor guy, 2 scopes and then replacement?! Like I said, I had the ACL done 20 years ago and now this scope. I HATE being immobilized, even for a short period of time (though my waistline might lead some to think otherwise). Hoping the absolute best for your recovery!
