  • Great win on the road, particularly after going down 10-0 and coming back strong
  • Think Riley and Guthrie are our unsung heroes these last few games. They have been coming on strong
  • I'm a big Custis supporter. Disappointed with the drops when the D had any contact with him. That's the big difference between Ish and him. He's got all the tools-If he wants to play for pay, he's got to come down with some of those. Did make a great ST tackle on Dortch
  • Dortch uses every ounce of his 5'9 ability. He's fun to watch if you don't have to defend him
  • Our Run Defense continued its improvement. I was a little mystified why we had such trouble getting their runners on the ground, frequently just stopping their forward progress and hoping for the whistle.
  • Am I the only one who gets a little nervous when Dino uses those Timeouts on Defense at the end of the 1st half with so little time left? Hope it doesn't bite us in the future.
  • Dungey is one tough dude. When he made that run for the TD, had flashbacks of his leap over the Virginia DB as a Freshman. Glad he didn't need to.
  • Seeing Dungey and Devito on the sideline together gives me the impression that they've gotten closer, based on their mutual respect of how everything has been handled
  • Run Blocking was excellent-Would love to see our backs break a few tackles.
  • Really liked us going off tackle with Howard at the Goal Line. We needed to mix it up-Babers is too good of a football mind to go up the middle every single Goal line running play.
  • Would love to get as many starters out of the game as possible up 17 with 3 minutes left. Can't afford the injuries and you can get some other guys feet wet.
  • 2 games in a row for Pierce with no flags. He happens to have some really good ability that I'm surpised we haven't utilized more. Great hands, speed, and can break a tackle, too.
  • Szmyt is to the point where you shocked if he misses. Nice to know we have him 3 more years.
  • Play of the game was the Hartman Fumble.
  • Wishes and prayers for Perkins.
  • Turning point of the year for us was the comeback victory against UNC. We lose that game and who knows where our head is afterwards. Gave us a ton of confidence to start the 2nd half of the year with that win.
  • Let's send Petrino off on his motorcycle with a serious beatdown. Let's crush 'em early. Think we willthey seem done.
  • With our improved Defense, the ND and BC games are definitely winnable. Just need our DB's to get a little healthier and better.

I thought it was good clock management. After the first play of the series resulted in a sack, we had WF pinned deep in their own territory (25-30 yard line) with <1:00 left in the half. If WF had converted a 1st down on any of the ensuing plays, Dino could have let the clock run, but as long as we kept stopping them, IMO it was worth spending our TOs to give Riley a shot at a long punt return (or a muffed punt or bad snap). As they saying goes, there's no sense taking the TOs into the locker room at halftime.

if the punter shanks one like we did earlier we get a free shot at a FG. worked out well the NC game.

Your first bullet point should've had in parenthesis (great W in Syracuse South) based on the sheer volume of our fans in that stadium. I was one of them, along with 7 other Orange faithful. Quite the scene really...all of the "Let's Go Orange" chants throughout the game were something to behold...if an SU fan!

Custis had a bad offensive day, but his special teams play was lights out!

Every guy won't have their "A" game every week, but we are close enough to having enough depth where others can step up and pick up the slack.

Agree. With the way the wind was blowing the way Wake was headed to end the half, might as well at least make them punt and see if something crazy happens.

Could hear you loud and clear on TV. Great showing.

I hear you. I worry you convince a team to go for it and they score or that you lose a guy to injury for unnecessary plays that are extremely unlikely to result in a score.

One other thing I remembered I wanted to comment on. That hit that Cisco put on the RB as soon as he (almost) got the ball reminded me of the Dyshawn Davis hit (though not nearly as hard) on that poor Rutgers RB that led to a fumble return for a TD. He got in there lightning fast.

Pierce looks much more under control the last couple games. Couple times Saturday I expected him to bring out the attitude, but he didn't. I'm leaning more and more that he wasn't injured against Pitt, he was suspended for his sideline antics against Clemson.

Heck, he even hugged Dortch on a kick off after he sprinted down to the end zone like they’re supposed to do on the cover team. I checked to make sure we don’t have another #6 on the roster when I saw it

The thing about Custis (IMHO) is that last year, he caught a total of 8 passes for 120 yards. That was his whole season. Prior to this year, he had 2 career TDs.
This season, he's very likely going to finish with over 50 receptions and 1000 yards.

It would obviously be amazing if he dominated like Ish last year or AET the year before or if he didn't drop passes but he's made a pretty huge leap in his final year at SU.
