Randy Edsall to hang up his cleats

Any chance we could use coach Edsall this year? Some sort of assistant within the team to help break down film etc? I mean if FHCDM can be an O-line coach at Bama, Edsall can do work behind the scenes for us.
I can't imagine Edsell would be able to cope with being an asst coach at SU. I wouldn't want to have him creating strife at a pivotal time. And I can't imagine HCDB wanting to take a chance on a guy who has a history of conflict with players and staff.

Randy has definitely earned it, but I wonder if there is any other alum out there that is pretty much universally disliked by their school's fanbase? I am sure there are other examples but I can't think of one right off.
Craig Carton? He's not a player or coach, so not exactly apples/apples

impressive.

the board never ceases to amaze me.

marrone working for saban is like is like parking your mercedes next to the porsche, nobody bats an eye.

randy coming to Cuse is literally parking an edsall next to a Ford Raptor.

no thank you.

Yes I was thinking a player or coach, but he would be a general candidate for sure.

They went to a Fiesta Bowl. I mean, that's kinda nuts.
I guess I blocked it out. I remember them jumping up to FBS, going to a couple of bowl games, then sucking. Granted, I don't follow their program closely at all.

Retiring at the end of this season ... with an overall losing record.

Now trending on QAnon...

Randy Edsall is really a Jake Crouthamel sleeper agent tasked with completely destroying the UConn football program...

"Sir, I would like to report the job as done."

They have done some special things with their football program, especially with their choices for HCs. Hope this doesn’t also mark the end of their program at the D1 level. It would be a shame if we had to fill those gaps in future schedules again.

Although if the alliance scheduling changes being discussed happen, those games will never happen anyway.
I would like to see UConn return to the Yankee Conference. I would rather bring UCLA, Cal, Indiana, Michigan State, Northwestern, and others back to Syracuse during football season.

I loved playing UCLA in the old days. It was very important to our national championship year because it showed the West Coast writers that we were the real deal. We have several other memorable games with them after that. I'd also like to play the Spartans again. It was Biggie Munn's SU staff, including SU grad Duffy Daugherty, that went out there in 1947 and turned them into a national power.

I watched us beat UCLA’s Gary Beban team.….back in the year one.
