Former Knicks guard Andy Rautins has already signed his contract with Lucentum Alicante of Spain, one source told HoopsHype.

The Spanish Liga Endesa is one of the premier Euro leagues and an EXCELLENT destination for Andy. This is a really good landing spot for him. Even if he never makes it back into the NBA, he should have a very successful career in Spain.

Good for Andy...

He lived a dream. He got to play in the NBA for a bit, got in some games, etc. Now he gets to go play professionally over seas and get some good playing time. Happy for him. He will do very well there.

JB was right again on this one - per his show from last week.

Rautins is still way overachieving at this point, hope he has a long career in Spain and will probably be a coach at some point...

Andy is a worker and, given an opportunity; could have a good career playing in Spain. Congrats!

...Andy best wishes...I am sure with your work ethic you will have a good career and an even better coaching one...

i wonder if there will be a spanish equivalent to mr. excitement to yell "a dandy from andy!"

Congrats to AR. Andy is a template for what it takes to maximize your potential through hard work and commitment. Andy is one of quite a few players who have made enormous strides in thier games while at Syracuse. It wasn't long ago that players, although they progressed over their tenure on the Hill, didn't show the incredible transformation which we've seen in some of the players recently. The physical component is no doubt partly resultant from having the Melo Center. Brian Cabilis (sp?) has done an extrodinary job. Rick Jackson, Melo, Dion, and the list goes on. I tend to think the high amount of competition on this years team is also prodding players to work hard to earn PT. The addition of GMac to the coaching staff will pay dividends as well.

When Andy came in many looked at him as a legacy player who was a good shooter and not as someone who was going to have the kind of impact that he ended up having. That kid left everything on the floor, every game and overcame adversity with the knee injury. In the end he was a very good collegiate player and the fact that he did get drafted and make a team seems fitting for someone who worked so hard.

Looks like the team already has the hated JEREMY HAZELL and KYLE SINGLER.

Good for Andy. Will always be one of my favorites.

Spain isn't exactly a tough place to live. The hottie to pig ratio is much larger than the USA.

that is a terrific landing spot for Andy . . . Alicante is the gateway to Spain's beautiful White Coast and home, by the way, to the Valencia Orange - not a bad place for an Orangeman to play.

¡Una bomba de la Naranja!
(a bomb from the Orangeman!)
