Don't really agree with that - Peek was always still keeping SU in mind as a contingency. Nothing new from his statement. He loved Shafer and was always going to keep considering SU, but he's still solid to Stanford. He was tweeting about them like crazy last night.

They may have just updated their rankings (I believe Skowt just updated their Top 300). Maybe they realized he may be coming to SU so they dropped him down.

It could be that Dino is trusting his assistant coach's opinions on who they want to bring in. Mike Hart was WMU's RB coach. Mike Hart wanted Shaw at WMU. He knows the guy can play and the relationship between player and position coach is already there.
