Class of 2025 RB Tylik Hill (NJ) COMMITTED / SIGNED NLI TO SYRACUSE (12/26/24)

Alright i'm thouroughly confused now. I went to go look for the play at the 6:20 mark again and didn't see it. I watched the entire video again and don't know where I saw it. Am i losing my mind? Did you see that as well? It was a play where he was running the ball and got tackled at the legs, but he went airborne and did sort of a flip, and landed on his feet. Then took off again.
It’s at the 1:20 mark look closely

Grades?
maybe or size. I doubt he's even 5'9 looking at the film and he's not a burner albeit while also never getting tracked down. what he is is allusive af with elite balance and vision.

He reminds me of Tavon Austin honestly minus the top end turnover... yet. Austin was "only" a 4.5 guy as a high school senior fwiw.

No idea why this kid wasn't highly recruited but I'm grateful as looking at his tape which is against solid competition he is legit. Great balance, vision and plenty of quicks and speed. He looks like a complete back and i would not be surprised to see him playing next year if LA goes pro. Does anyone know if he is coming in January.

The pancake block at 5:12...

Running the dude down after the int to stop the TD.

Cannot say Ive seen a runner quite like him. Slower version of Mike Hart? Shorter version of Erick Dickerson?

There is a lot to like in this film.

Seems to run as fast as he needs to.
Kid has a gear shift, complete with overdrive. Add a few pounds, maintain that run ability and we really have something great.

His form when he sprints is kind of strange. Loping. I wonder if they can help him run more efficiently. Certainly has the quickness and balance
first time I've ever watched football players film and thought "he moves like a hockey player". he seemingly glides covering ground without much turnover but the lateral mobility, balance and the way he rides through contact while keeping his feet are akin to the guys that seemingly never get hit with a clean check

Bringing in a lot of the same kind of player. It makes sense on the line,

Skill guys there’s only one ball.

To my eyes he looks like a straight RB and I’m guessing 5-9 190.

If LaQuint is back idk know if it makes much sense but maybe he just got eligible and is too good to pass up?

after LaQuint I think the RB room is wide open. IMO I also think there’s 2 skill spots we can be better, a stretch the field take it to the house WR (unless Zeed is back) and a premium RB; Delone Carter Curtis Brinkley type.

I look at it this way. Joe Morris only had one other offer, UMass, and 4,000 career yards later at Cuse it worked out damn well for us!
That's who I compare this kid to. Joe was short in stature, but elusive as all get out. Very powerful legs and lower body, was willing to blast a defender if need be , but I don't remember him as being a speed demon either.

one of my fav Mac stories: We were playing Illinois and OC Jim Tressel called something like 5 straight of the same running play with Joe. Mac, who didn't wear a headset, grabbed one and called up to Tressel: "Jimmy, do we have any other plays in our book to call?" Tressel: "Coach, I'll call another play when they're able to stop this one." End of conversation.
