"not one of them is expected to make a considerable splash."
Don't really understand the basis for this comment. Is that saying none of the current recruits is going to make an immediate impact? He doesn't even mention Wayne Williams who would probably be the one to make the biggest immediate impact. And I don't think you can really consider next year's class without considering Quinta Funderburk either. He needs to do a little more homework other than looking at a list of star ratings before making statements like that.
Completely agree--I was going to post several of those same points [Williams, etc.].
What do you consider a considerable splash?"not one of them is expected to make a considerable splash."
What do you consider a considerable splash?
The article says we have a running back that could be an impact player, two QBs that could compete for playing time, and an all-purpose super versatile FB/TE.
That sounds to me like something worth being excited about, but it also doesn't sound to me like any of those guys are sure fire impact guys from day one. I think that's fair.
Wayne Williams. Quinta Funderburk. I define "considerable splash" as players that can step in immediately and be difference makers. And both of them have the potential to do that.
One of of the two happens to be the highest profile football transfer the school has received in over a decade. You don't think a 6'3 200 WR that was offered by every school you can probably name could make a considerable splash on a team losing it's top two WR's after this season?
If it's your job to be educated about what you're commenting on, then get educated about it. I don't think that's much to ask for from a national media outlet.
I don't disagree with the rest of your post or even the author's post - my main point of contention was that he overlooked Williams and most notably Funderburk.
Neither of those guys is a highschool player.Wayne Williams. Quinta Funderburk. I define "considerable splash" as players that can step in immediately and be difference makers. And both of them have the potential to do that.

Now you're just being difficult. And here I thought the title of the article was "Recruiting Review". I don't realize it was "Recruiting Review - High School Players".
I guess JUCO's and Transfers just magically appear on campus. They must just drop out of the sky.
My bad.
