Red’s Postgame Presser | Slippery Rock

“I think Chance will be ready to go at the end of this week,” the SU head coach said. “He’s running right now. He’s back. He’s shooting. He’s working out. So I expect to see Chance ready to go by Monday. ... He probably could be ready for the first game. Not 100% sure.”

Petar
Jyare
Taylor
Moore
McLeod
Cuffe

That to me is the general order of the bench. Moore can move up. McLeod is a 5 mpg player. Cuffe and Taylor are really the same player, but Taylor has more size.

Thought the same thing about Cuffe and Taylor. I actually love how Cuffe attacks the basket, but he's 4"-5" too short to play that way. Taylor has good athleticism and is really active -- Cuffe probably the better overall defender at the moment but they're close there too. My question with Taylor is will that athleticism translate into production at this level. Great athlete, I'm a little unsure about what type of basketball player he is just yet. (Although he had a great cut to the lane and dish out for a wide open three in the second half -- really nice play.)

We have a lot of names that are capable of playing -- i'm not ready to say we have great depth. Petar's fairly well-rounded skill set and activity make him a solid 6th or 7th. Davis I think has more game than we've seen, but what we've seen has been pretty pedestrian. Taylor and Cuffe we covered, Moore is intriguing but young ... so, maybe? McLeod sounds like a great kid but I'm thinking he's not going to play much if we aren't ever going zone. If we go zone or adjust our defense to some extent so he can hang around the basket, then I'll change my mind.

It was one of those belt things people wear for lumbar support. Or for weightlifting too.
Lamp was on the court a couple of hours before the game started. He was wearing the brace and doing some movements drills.

Prior to that, Chance got a workout in - running and shooting.

So no full contact practice yet. Fingers crossed.

Different situations, yes, but this Chance thing reminds me so much of AO going into the 2010 NCAA tourney.

Yeah, no.

Chance hasn't played a single second in a single game @ Cuse ever.

AO was an integral part of what may have been the best TEAM that Cuse ever had.

The shenanigans around not reporting the severity of AO's injury 'only' lasted a few weeks.
Chance has basically been on Injured Reserve since midway thru his Frosh season at Auburn.

You can't miss what you have never had.

I expect nothing from Chance at this point. Hope for the best for his sake but yeah, looks like its bever going to happen.
