Well, that was not what I expected.
I get what he’s saying…as far as the message he’s conveying to the fanbaseWell, that was not what I expected.
Angry and defensive, but not a .Looks like JB might have had a little talk with Red about how to handle the media.
About time he showed some passionWell, that was not what I expected.
Going through Lampkin each time down the floor won’t work if he doesn’t play at a very high level, which he didn’t last night.
During the game I was mulling over what personality traits are most helpful to be a head coach. This was driven by Red's seemingly passive coaching style. I don't need to see Boeheim-esque dogging of players, but holding people accountable in real time. Something.. something.. DART..
So I do appreciate the passion shown by Red in the presser, but unfortunately, to me, it comes off as more excuse making and defensiveness toward the media/fans than anything else.
Boeheim’s dogging of players is what held them accountable. The kids who didn’t get back on D last night for the layup I saw, should’ve been benched. Send a message, get their attention, hold them accountable for subpar play. Control the controllables. Hustle and effort is separate from talent.
Oh come on. He was protecting himselfCan you imagine if JB was coaching and Chris Bell did the hanging on the rim thing?
JB would have lost his mind.
Yeah it was so he didn’t fall after trying to block the shot. Cmon I think you know the game a little more than thatCan you imagine if JB was coaching and Chris Bell did the hanging on the rim thing?
JB would have lost his mind.
You're going to learn a lesson about JB eventuallyEh I have no issue with Reds comments or his approach here. He’s got a brand new team he’s trying to build up. Haven’t we learned our lesson from JB?
You're being serious?Oh come on. He was protecting himself
Mind boggling why Davis wasn't working in the low post against the smaller guys he had guarding him in the second half. Why are they asking Davis to play on the perimeter? Do they have any offensive sets? Bell needs to have sets to get him open looks at 3s. Going through Lampkin each time down the floor won’t work if he doesn’t play at a very high level, which he didn’t last night.
"Eddie has been in an out. His conditioning is not where it needs to be." In and out as in struggling with injury and that is what is holding his conditioning back. He did not even participate in warmups because of his back. Still looked like one of the few guys on the team who gave a crap last night. And Woodward only had four points. 15 points 12 boards 5 assists 0 fouls. Lead evaporated when we took him off the court. Soooooo far down the list of problems with this team."Eddie's conditioning is not where it needs to be"
Hmmm... I was told, on this very board, that my saying he wasn't in shape was crazy.
And while he put up stats on O, his D is terrible and he is averaging 26.5 mpg in the first two games against bad teams.
This is who he is. He can be a guy on O for bursts. He will be awful on D.
