This team is just fine, why don't we just let it play out. Hopefully grant is back by the big tourney. Last year our offense was much worse and couldn't create going into the ncaa tournament.We missed about 20 lay ups today, cooney hasn't shot well in 3 weeks and our defense has still been great. Take out virginas 4 30 foot 3s and we still barely lose today with absolutely no shooting. Yes, we are forcing shots but just trust in boeheim and everything will work out. I keep saying it, ONLY THE LAST 6 GAMES MATTER! Just as we've been told for the past 3 weeks, the acc doesn't even recognize a regular season champion.

Yep, tied up at 42 on the road around the half way mark of the 2nd half prior to the bottom falling out on defense. Way too many wide open looks, and to UVA's credit, they buried them. 7 of 11 from downtown (that England dude hit one from Wales) which assisted in their 18-3 run...as disappointing as our offense is and has been for a while, our defense was a huge let down from that aforementioned point. Letting a UVA team score 48 points in a half is just down right offensive.

In the last 6 games, besides the 3 losses, we had two other sure losses (Pitt/NC State) that turned into miracle wins, and the other game (Maryland) in the last 10 seconds we survived a non-call block foul on Keita and then right after that a missed game-winning three at the buzzer! We easily could have been 0-6 in this stretch, and very fortunate to be 3-3. But no worries, we are "just fine"!

This team is NOT fine, and isn't been fine since the first Duke game. Everything since then has been a struggle and/or a loss. Not one routine W in that stretch.

Now that is not to say that we can't get our act together before the post-season, but clearly this team is not fine right now.

The biggie is Grant - can he get back to 100% by the time things really count ?

Second biggie is Cooney - can he hit treys at greater than a 30% clip ? The scary thing here is that he seems to have gotten better looks the past two games, but the result hasn't changed much.

Third biggie is the O in general - the formula against us seems to be to hound Trevor with one guy & take away the paint with everybody else. We have yet to find an answer.

Fourth biggie seems to be rebounding - we seem to be regressing as the season progresses.

Fifth biggie is the lack of depth - that one is on the HOF Coach. IMHO, clearly Roberson could have been a big help had he received more minutes all along. Next man up would have been Patterson - we will never know what might have been w Buss - same with BJ (though I really doubt he could have contributed much this season). You have absolutely got to get these kids some early season run to see what they can do. Plenty of time to tighten the rotation as we progress into tougher conference games.

In hindsight being undefeated for so long was the worst thing that could have happened. The team started to play not to lose rather than to win and Jimmy tightened his rotations up even earlier in the season than usual. An early season loss would have taken so much pressure off both the kids and the Coach, and yes, even HOFers are not exempt from feeling pressure.
