Really, really hoping we get Shy back
Shy took advantage of the opportunity he got and really shined the last half of the season. Richards is an assassin - a SAM straight out of central casting. Williams and Wallace will get looks at Spring camp, and we have depth/experience with Armstrong and Allison. If Shy's back, I don't see much PT available for Kpbogpa or Jones. If he's not back, then one of them would have to emerge or I think the staff would look for a GT. We're all rooting for Shy.Tyrell Richards, Juan Wallace, and Tre Allison paired with Armstrong and hopefully Shy’s experience could be a solid core.
Really really really hope so too. Be night and day.Really, really hoping we get Shy back
Shy back in the mix, the two frosh here early, the stable of upperclassmen, and the freak from Quebec arriving over the summer...fall camp is going to be a blood bath to crack the rotation.Shy took advantage of the opportunity he got and really shined the last half of the season. I pray they redshirt for our further benefitYou didn't even mention our young 4 stars who both enrolled early.
He is still on track and more motivated than ever... he doesn’t dig what I do for work in the tiniest bit. He is working out with 2 different trainers... one is a former USA hockey trainer and works with a lot of nfl guys. He also started working out with a guy we stumbled across by accident near our house. He will be doing so pneumatic training in addition to free weights and plyometrics. Saw some real high tech work out stuff last night that identified some weakness in bilateral strength that is going to be corrected increasing speed explosiveness and agility. He will be seeing huge gains in his combine event numbers as well as on field eye test stuff. I’m super excited a out this and can’t wait to see the results.Shy took advantage of the opportunity he got and really shined the last half of the season. Never be afraid to share what they are doing as I would love to hear it. Love that stuff. He is still on track and more motivated than ever... he doesn’t dig what I do for work in the tiniest bit. I'm ready to order a hamburger just reading that.He is using these air pneumatic lifting machines. They provide you with initial power used and a percentage of each rep there after. So you can see fatigue . It also allows you to measure each leg and arm as individuals. This lets you identify your dominant limb. Your dominant limb reduces out put to match your weaker limb. So in other words if you are running you can only go as fast as your weakest leg or benching you can only bench as much as your weakest arm. Shy has a 25 percent deficiency in left versus right. So in theory if he were to have both legs or arms matching output he would be able to run faster and bench more. It also allows you to identify power drop off so you can specifically train for stamina. His trainer will target his weak side and bring it to match his dominant side using air pneumatic equipment. This provides equal resistance from start to finish. Momentum does not help against air pneumatics. In other words if your benching or squating the load of the weights is only truly pushed at the bottom of the movement. After that momentum reduces the resistance to the weight. It’s kinda like using bands for resistance momentuem doesn’t help but bands change resistance as the band stretches pneumatic doesn’t. Friday shy will be measured in combine tests to get a baseline and in a few months will be retested to see the new results.
I’ve actually been doing a ton of research into bilateral training. It really improves strength and explosiveness while reducing injuries. I was going to start Shy doing some of this on our own but found this trainer right down the road by acccident and he specializes in exactly what I was looking to do.
That’s awesome. That was the hardest thing as a hs lifting coach by myself in the weight room with 30 plus kids and u could see the vast difference between sides but don’t really have the time to truly fix it. The only bi lateral stuff we really could do was incline or flat dumbbell holding one up and doing other arm. Also had them do one arm hang cleans from floor. That stuff fascinates me and how do they fix his legs if one is different. Is shy a quad dominant kid or hamstring dom or in middle. My son for example was a quad dom kid who I forced into a ham dom from teaching him when he squats to force his feet out as he comes up which fires your hams and ass more. It was amazing watching the change. Keep me in the loop please so I can learn new stuff. Thank u for bsin with us. I think he will kill it this year. Looking forward to an all acc performance from him at lb. super excited. He is using these air pneumatic lifting machines. If the LBs play well we can be a top 20 defense
I said top ten but with our offense most said we will never reach that level but then I thought of Clemson. Don’t they run a tempo offense. They have had top 5 defenses in country. If the LBs play well we can be a top 20 defense
He is quad dominant. I was going to do those exercise with him until we found this place. The only other thing I planned was one leg squats. From what I can understand they will slowly go up in weight on the stronger leg while going up faster on the weaker leg. Till they match. That’s awesome.
