ESPN predicts CJ Carr , a redhsirt freshman will get the starting nod for whatever that is worth. So, that was last year and the year before. Who have they gotten from the portal to replace him for next year?

How do you know that we won't have strong senior/upper class leadership when we haven't even made it to Spring practice yet?I don't think it's a coincidence that the three really good seasons Syracuse football has had in the last 20 years (12,18, 24) all have some things in common. Most importantly is extremely strong senior/upper class leadership most especially at the QB position with some solid anchors on defense as well.
Not seeing any of that this year and you combine that with the schedule, I think it's tough to even see 6 wins. But hey to each his own.
I was a bigger fanYou would not have found a bigger fan of McCord than me last offseason. I remember our own fans downplaying us signing him.
We had the most wins over bowl teams than anyone in the countryLast year we were loaded with an easy schedule and fought tooth and nail for 9 regular season wins. My eyes are pretty clear at what we lost and haven’t replaced with potentially 3-4 top 10 teams on the schedule. Let’s be a little realistic.
The last 25 years of watching the program? Let me know who the next Barron, Wax, McCord, Dungey, Strickland, Guthrie, Lemon, Nassib, Sales, Shamarko, Pugh, Chibane, Goggins, Lemon, Vaughn are? would love to know. How do you know that we won't have strong senior/upper class leadership when we haven't even made it to Spring practice yet?
But hey, to each his own.
Probably not that much right now. It will end up being a competition, but Angeli has real game experience. I just don’t think they are excluding him as a possible starter.ESPN predicts CJ Carr , a redhsirt freshman will get the starting nod for whatever that is worth.
Would agree. Angeli is a priority piece for them either way.Probably not that much right now. It will end up being a competition, but Angeli has real game experience. I just don’t think they are excluding him as a possible starter.
7 DBs, 7 DL, 6 LB, 9 OL (!), 5 WR, and 2 TE have will be in their 3rd year of college football or more come the 2025 season. And a lot of those guys played in 2024.How do you know that we won't have strong senior/upper class leadership when we haven't even made it to Spring practice yet?
But hey, to each his own.
Tennessee is getting paid $3.8 million. So hopefully SU is getting at least $1 million.Syracuse has an obligation to play Notre Dame. The Tennessee thing has been a head scratcher since they booked it, but they’re likely making 7 figures to show up.
There's no way Syracuse would agree to do it if it's not close to an equal share.Tennessee is getting paid $3.8 million. So hopefully SU is getting at least $1 million.
Watch and you will find out. Just like the rest of us.The last 25 years of watching the program? Let me know who the next Barron, Wax, McCord, Dungey, Strickland, Guthrie, Lemon, Nassib, Sales, Shamarko, Pugh, Chibane, Goggins, Lemon, Vaughn are? would love to know.
I hope you’re right. I just don’t see any entity paying SU in the neighborhood of $3 million to play a game. There's no way Syracuse would agree to do it if it's not close to an equal share.
And you know this how?I hope you’re right. I just don’t see any entity paying SU in the neighborhood of $3 million to play a game.
The information available is squishy, but payouts look to be contingent on selling ticket allotments. That said, Cuse isn't doing this for a bargain.I hope you’re right. I just don’t see any entity paying SU in the neighborhood of $3 million to play a game.
I just don’t think SU is, at the moment (and especially when the contract was signed) a national cfb brand like Tennessee is. I don’t see SU getting the same payout as Tennessee. And you know this how?
Just more BS thrown out on the forum with no basis in reality whatsoever.
I would bet it’s the same. It’s not like it’s being played in Buffalo.Tennessee is getting paid $3.8 million. So hopefully SU is getting at least $1 million.
Sounds great (in theory) My whole point is you SHOULD know who those guys are right now, but whatever.Watch and you will find out. Just like the rest of us.
I don't need to know. As long as the team knows, I'm fine with that.Sounds great (in theory) My whole point is you SHOULD know who those guys are right now, but whatever.
In September, NC State got a guaranteed $4 million to play Tennessee in Charlotte, while Tennessee paid $1.35 million for the right to beat down on Kent St.I just don’t think SU is, at the moment (and especially when the contract was signed) a national cfb brand like Tennessee is. I don’t see SU getting the same payout as Tennessee.
It's an equal shareThere's no way Syracuse would agree to do it if it's not close to an equal share.
Tennessee is getting paid $3.8 million. So hopefully SU is getting at least $1 million.
Where are you seeing the $3.8M? Wondering if that's a base with 0 tickets sold. Which each would get. And the remaining comes from what they sell. Average payout has been $5.2M per team according to a bunch of googled articles.
Good find. There's no way Syracuse is doing this without the same guarantee.
