I don't enjoy a lot of sports commentators, but had no issue with Saunders. Enjoyed hearing him call games.

Wow. I can't believe it.

He seemed like a very sharp guy.

And, his performance in the Dr. Pepper commercial last year - the College Football Playoff piece - was tremendous.

So sorry to hear about this.

Yeah, good point. When he called games, he never went out of his way to bring attention to himself. There aren't many like that around anymore. Brad Nessler is one that comes to mind that is humbly professional.

Just saw Mike Tirico report on it during an Olympic break. Not surprisingly I'm sure I heard his voice quiver a couple times.
