RIP Lou Reed

Sad. Amazing that his body withstood all the abuse he gave it for as long as it did.

We're all slowly becoming history...cuseguy.

For those newbies out there, take note that Reed attended Cuse. Velvet Underground is still underappreciated for their influence in music imo.

Phish has covered some Velvet Underground and plays 'Rock and Roll' pretty regularly. I saw them do Sweet Jane once which was pretty cool, that got me listening to Velvet.

Anybody that knows anything appreciates them. They are in the Hall of Fame.

Referenced in the dictionary under Badass.

I love the episode of Orange is the New Black that begins with "Sunday Morning."

"Head Held High" -- iconic SU promotion video. What other school has an alum perform in service to alma mater?

so, I guess Vanessa Williams is next up as top living musical artist who went to SU?!?! ugh.

Sweet Jane...easily my favorite LR TUNE.

Seven or eight years ago, My daughter attended a small concert put on by Lew Reed in NYC. She was fortunate enough to get in the front row and she also bought a dozen roses that she wanted to give to him if she had the opportunity. During his encore, she chucked the roses on stage, hitting Lew in the leg. He picked them up and through a few back and saved the rest and he invited my daughter back stage. He talked to her and she told her she was from the Syracuse area and he told her he was an Orange graduate. He gave her a kiss on the cheek and sent her on her way. My daughter who is now 36 has a really great memory of Lew Reed. She was pretty sad yesterday when she heard of his passing.

Saw Lou at some concert a couple of years ago. Thought it was interesting that he was sitting in the middle of everyone when he could easily be in the pit area. I assume he was there for the sound.
