RIP Walter Reyes

I always thought he'd make it big in the NFL. Maybe if he had...

Such a tragedy. He was such a pleasure to watch. RIP Walter.

How sad. RIP.

Forgive me if this isn't the time to ask but I've heard that he was offered #44 for his Senior year but declined. Was that legit or just a rumor?

Terrible news.

One of the great SU running backs of all time.

His junior year was remarkable.

God Bless His Memory!

Oh no, one of my all-time favorite Syracuse players. Very sad to see this, RIP.

Way too young.

His Dome performance vs. Notre Dame will live forever.
I can still see him ripping off that 71 yard TD.
One of the Dome's best individual games.
RIP Orangelegend!

Just gutted to hear this. One of my all time favorite Orangemen. RIP Walter.

Very sad. One of my favorites, right there with Qadry Ismail, McNabb, and Freeney (guys I got to see in person).

Very sad. Hurts to lose one of our own at such a young age.

wow, prayers for his family...I have a 39 CUSE jersey and enjoyed watching him as a player...

briefly met him once before the Bowl game against Georgia Tech in Orlando, was super nice

Terribly sad news. Far too young. What a great talent and competitor. RIP, Walter.

Really sad. A great player at SU and just terrible for his family. RIP Walter.

44cuse

I grew up in Ithaca, same age as Walter. Loved him as a player. I now live in Eastern Ohio and am about 30 miles south of Struthers where Walter is from. High school Football is king around here and I have been told many, many stories of Walter when he was a superstar in high school. The greater Youngstown, Ohio area has just been ravaged with overdoses and death. This is just another sad story of addiction and not being able to get out from underneath it all.
