For the love of God, please stop giving this quack a forum. She has no direct knowledge that anything occurred...it is all hearsay, yet she has taken the role of an advoctae here. Stop interviewing her. Might as well interview me as well since I have absolutely nothing to offer this investigation.

Well, I've been around Bernie Fine during over 100 basketball games in the last 4 years, which is over 300 hours...and he's never molested anyone in front of me. Am I a worthwhile source?

I will say this again, you shouldn't be blasting potentially innocent people...

After learning of Roach’s claim, Fitzpatrick spoke to someone “very, very close” to Roach who asked her about the phone messages she’d left in 2002. Roach told that person, whom Fitzpatrick would not identify, that she tried twice to reach Trunfio. The first time, Roach didn’t leave her name or phone number or say why she was calling, Fitzpatrick said. The second message she left did not include Fine’s name or anything about sexual abuse, Fitzpatrick said.

I'm guessing the person "very, very close" to Roach is Davis.

Seems more and more clear that when (if) they contacted both the SPD and the DA, they didn't want them to do anything. They just wanted to say they contacted them.

So she didn't identify herself the same way each time. She didn't give her name or phone number for him to call back the first time. And the second time, she didn't make an accusation about Bernie Fine. Seems like she left out a lot of info.

Makes me wonder, especially with the first message, how was Trunfio supposed to call her back?

Caller ID

Caller ID

I guess, I just think when you're leaving a message about something this serious, you leave every single detail you have and every piece of information on how to contact you. But in the moment, that doesn't necessarily mean that's what a person would do, I guess.

Why was Fitzpatrick speaking to someone "very, very close" to Roach instead of speaking to Roach herself? Why is Fitzpatrick quoting what a second-hand source told him instead of the actual person who purportedly made the calls?

I was being sarcastic. You are correct.

When *all* the authorities are skeptical of events like Roach is alleging I think it is pretty clear that we are never, ever, going to see any evidence of any wrongdoing. This looks exactly like what it is, a hunt for evidence that does not exist.

And the longer it goes on the more chance there is for someone like JB to just blow his stack and wind up looking bad. I really hate the people conspiring with these allegations, they are putting some good people in harm's way.

Seriously guys? You know who he (DA Fitz) talked to. It was Schwarz. He has been the media agent for these 3 since the jump. He said in last OTL that he is actively texting back and forth with the DA. I'm not kidding at all. He has completely inserted himself into this story. Nobody talks to these 3 - not even the police or DA - without going through him.

Makes ya wonder why he is talking about evidence in public.

I think a lot of people missed that tidbit and Schwarz said it right on the air. In fact he said Fitz had just texted him.

the average house has had caller id for well beyond the last 10 years.. police/phone companies have been using it for over 50 years. All the calls are tracked, the big difference is these days it takes seconds and it used to take 10-15 min..

Amount of time probably doesn't matter when the officials in question allegedly didn't pick up the phone.

Actually, she is a direct witness to violation of SPD and DA policy and procedures. If there is going to be any financial settlement or payout, it is going to come from the city for egregiously dismissing/mishandling this case.

The only scalps that are going to be taken in this case will be those of public officials. And, of course, Bernie's reputation will never be fully repaired. But JB, the program and the university will come out the other side.

Not sure there would be a civil case in this against the SPD or DA's office. There are no damages they can claim for themselves and as has been pointed out the SOL ran out long before. Any victims from that point on may have a claim.

Because they are investigating inconsistencies in various statements.
