RPI...SOS

And we own the win over Nova. So the committee would weigh that more heavily than either RPI or Kenpom standing if Nova and Cuse remain close to each other and near the top of both as well.

Cheers,
Neil

Committee would ignore KP anyway. I personally only think they use power rankings to better assess seeding for 14-16 seeds which have accomplished little, or to seed at larges that do not play nearly as many teams.

But in the scenario where Villanova, Syracuse and Kansas are fighting for the last #1 seed, the fact that we beat Villanova loses some meaning.

Syracuse beat Nova at home
Nova beat Kansas (neutral

Jesus. I just looked at the rankings in SOS.. Nobody is even close to Kansas. I mean, NOT EVEN CLOSE. I've honestly always thought Bill Self was the best coach of the new era, can't help but have great respect for the man. That guy really wants to beat the hell out of his players lol

Yeah I do wonder how much they use them. But even last year, I think Montana was one of the worst teams per KP in the whole field and they were a 13. (I checked, last year, they were the 7th worst team in the field according to KP)

I also think in general, head to head has less of an impact than people think. Maybe at the top of the bracket it matters more, but for the most part, the committee is ranking groups of teams. Its rarely one team head up vs another

If Kansas is even in the discussion, they automatically will get a #1 seed and it won't be in the East. Their SOS is out of this world. In other words, even an unbeaten Wichita State won't get a #1 seed over KU if KU basically wins the Big 12 and the Big 12 tourney - which is truly the only way KU will be in the discussion for a #1 seed.

Again, the only real opposition for a #1 seed in the East will be Nova, Duke, and possibly the Big Ten #2. And if the Big Ten #2 isn't Michigan State (which I think will be the the top Big Ten team), at this point in time I don't even see the #2 Big Ten team getting it over us or Nova. But if we and Nova fall enough to get Duke back into the discussion for a #1, then the Big 10 #2 possibly comes into the equation as well.

Cheers,
Neil
