Rutgers conference expansion rumor

I really don't understand the "open spot" logic. The Big Ten played with 11 teams for over a decade. It's not a problem for them to have an odd number of teams. There's no rule that says the Big Ten must have X (10, 12, 14, 16) teams.
There is a rule that states that at least 12 teams are required to hold a championship game. Would the B1G give up championship game revenue? I don't think so.

There is a rule that states Rutgers isn't worthy.

It's my rule but I think others agree with me.

I've been hearing some rumblings that RU could be making an "out-of-the-box" play for the SEC.

Reasons (same as we've heard before):

-SEC to NYC/Northeast market for alumni
-Strengthen SEC academically
-Opening up Northeast recruiting even more

-TV sets for pending network

This Oklahoma rumor is starting to get legs. I hear it alot lately. Must be some truth to it. I also heard one stipulation is they want Rutgers as a travel partner and as a means of opening the Northeast to them for recruiting.

I heard a rumor that drinking soda with a mouthful of Pop Rocks causes severe chemical burns. Heard it from several people. Must be some truth to it.

They say it damn near killed "Mikey" from the Life Cereal commercials.

Sources have reported OU has been in contact with the B1G over joining before the possibility of PSU getting the death penalty even arose.

Also, those sources are just people on our board trying to start rumors like "the dude" from WVU... aka - it's a joke

Not quite. This speculation has been out there in the ozone and/or ether independent of the posters on this board. Besides, if you want to do like The Dude you try to engage in the spreading of runors. Runors are the MO of all things WVU.

As the world turns, today's Rutgers hot rumor is of the 4 choices of schools tied to Notre Dame for ACC membership; Uconn, LVille, Rutgers and Navy ... Rutgers is the school being linked with Notre Dame.

You are right. I forgot they have a championship game starting this year.

They could gt a replacement for PSU in about 15 minutes if they wanted to.

Wait a minute - OK wants RU as a travel partner? I don't think OU gives a crap about RU for any reason on the planet.

You don't think Oklahoma wants to tap into those fertile New Jersey recruiting grounds?

Even with all the money SEC teams make, it still wouldn't be enough to close Jersey State's $27 million athletic budget deficit.

No. I don't. They sit next door to one of the best state football recruiting areas in the nation - they don't need NJ.
