Ryan Daly was a very good player at St. Joe's. His final year was the COVID year of 2020-21, and that was a weird year altogether, but his junior year he averaged 20.6 points, 6.8 rebounds and 4.3 assists per game. Played his first couple years at Delaware.

For those that don't know, Ryan Daly comes from a very well-known basketball family in Philadelphia. Here's a longer obit type piece about his grandmother, Tess Boyle, whose husband was the head coach at St. Joe's from 1981-90 and was an assistant with Paul Westhead (another Philly guy) for the Denver Nuggets: https://www.inquirer.com/obituaries...ldrens-hospital-of-philadelphia-20191219.html

Daly's dad, Brian, played at St. Joe's for Phil Martelli Sr., was an assistant at BU and Penn State. His cousin, Mike, is director of operations at La Salle. Another cousin, Toe Boyle, is an assistant coach at St. Joe's. His brother, Colin, played at West Chester and Temple before moving into the coaching ranks as an assistant coach at North Carolina A&T. Another cousin, Brian Boyle, is an assistant coach for the Greensboro Swarm in the NBA G League.

Basketball has been in his blood since birth. I think that pedigree along with GMac's will to win will be a nice fit.

That experience is all well and good... but is he taller than 5-9?

Wouldn’t it be great if we could list family credentials and accomplishments on our resume and simply say “it’s in my blood.”

Read his full bio on the VCU site. This dude is the offensive mind that we’ve been clamoring for to have on staff.
