Ryan Norton has been suspended for Saturday's game against Wake Forest

I have handled a boatload of minor drinking offenses. As long as the kid doesn't have a record and doesn't piss off the arresting officer by acting like an idiot and resisting arrest they are simple. All he would have gotten is maybe community service and a $250 dollar fine. Dumb move on Norton now he will likely get probation as well as the community service and fine.

at least if it comes down to losing because of a kicking issue it means the team played better than most of this board thinks it can this week.

Even though he's just a kicker, he's still a Div. 1 athlete and should be able to outrun a couple of donut-eating cops working the party patrol.

After a long hiatus out of the fans doghouse, I guess it's time to add Will Hicks to the list of people being bashed for our problems this season.

Ole #37 would've outran the cops...he made the best STs play last year at Cincy.

j/k rsd

I would argue in his favor that he has already satisifed any community service requirement by having to participate in the NW, Clemson and GT games.

Daniel LaRusso ran towards the hood, but he was screwed when he had to leap the tall fence. Then, Johnny and the boys were able to catch up and kick his ass.

That is without a doubt one of my favorite scenes in movie history. Double upper-cut to the first two guys, double round house kick to the third, kick the 4th guy in the balls a couple times, followed by flipping Johnny over and karate chopping him in the chest. I've seen it no less than 200 times.

This is why you specialize in corporate litigation...:D

Yep, just as I remember it...

Did some forget to tell him "hard nosed" was for football only? Not for the cops?

You know how difficult it is to get arrested for public intoxication/open container? The number of times many of us have done this, I wonder how many citings have been given out to board members.

He was going to be arrested for underage drinking. Not open container.

Sure, I'm just trying to broaden the scope of arrests regarding alcohol and college. As often as those laws are broken, it's pretty rare to be caught and arrested for it during your college years.

In my area of the 315, underage drinking was a $50 fine. We figured it was easier to chill on the couch, crack another beer and wait for the ticket, then run onto the frozen ice, trying to cross keuka lake to get out of a small fine.

When I was 18 got a possession of alcohol ticket for "the alcohol I possessed in my stomach"... not even joking. That fine wasent anymore than $100.

Charged with resisting arrest and underage possession of alcohol

Norton was charged with resisting arrest and underage possession of alcohol after running from police on Marshall Street last Friday morning, according to documents from the Syracuse City Court.

According to the document, Norton was approached by officers after he was observed with an open 24-ounce can of Bud Light near Acropolis Pizza and, when approached, told officers, "I'm not going anywhere."

After informing Norton that he'd be arrested, the document claims Norton ran from officers and was caught on the 200 block of Waverly Avenue. Court documents say that Norton pushed officers while running in an attempt to avoid arrest, refused to go to the ground after numerous commands and, once tackled by officers, refused to roll onto his stomach of put his hands behind his back.

Another episode of drunk idiot kickers.

Don't ask, don't tell.

If you have ever seen him, he looks like a surfer geek; kind of like Robby Benson in One on One, only more so. Out of all the kids on the team, he might be the last one I would expect to hear had been arrested.

What a shame. He really let down the team at a time he was desperately needed. Might not be able to play the rest of the year now after resisting arrest.

I think losing him on kickoffs is a bigger loss than losing him on field goals, though both are big problems, especially on this very offensive challenged team.
Would this guy suffice:

Maybe he has some eligibility left. That way if the offense stalls at their own 20 you bring him on - Oyage!.

I am definitely NOT better than this. I am disappointed Norton waited until a Friday night to get the party started. I pulled this shitt off on Mondays.
Hahaha. Me too
