We had our chance but blew it. instead we've proven to be the not-ready-for-prime-time players. Maybe we can climb back into that position in two years- maybe.
I think the opportunity was missed more in game 2 than 3. If we don't vomit on ourselves against Maryland and manage to pull out a W, what happened last week would have been chalked up to Clemson being Clemson. Gettting housed by something like a combined 80 points is what has killed our reputation this year. We can still end up with a good year, but the national perception will be that we didn't beat anyone because Clemson is viewed as the only legit team on our schedule.
It won't be easy. To win gameday you also have to beat out some other compelling matchups. The red sea parted for this opportunity, friggin Iowa St was the only competition and all we had to do was not slit the bed at MD.Definitely missed our chance but there will be more opportunities. Clemson is Clemson, FSU won't be down for long and we get ND at the dome in a couple years
I was speaking more about overall national perception.Well, obviously. Game 3 was to be the day GameDay was here. Game 2 is the game that blew it.
