I would rather have a hustling / hard working Sadiq who will try to defend and plays hard, than a more gifted offensively Donnie who plays small.

Fit trumps talent, in this case.

I wonder if this was his plan all along, whether Freeman's departure influenced him to stay, etc.

But with Donnie leaving, the path to the starting lineup as the 4 is there for the taking for Sadiq.


EDIT -- Sadiq and Kingz are the two players from last year I wanted back [Kyle out of eligibility]. I don't know if Kingz has a shot, with the NCAA appeal, but hopefully he does.

Absolutely and With the staff we are bringing in Sadiq has the best shot at becoming a star at the 4 to go with a star at the 1. Sadiq is going to now be surrounded by far more teammates who approach the game and all aspects of it like he does. He won’t be on an island defending hard while others sit back and watch.
