Sadiq White RETURNING

That wasn’t at all what I was insinuating.
I meant we’re rightfully focusing on the needs that need to be spent on the most.
I guess I misinterpreted this part of your post:
"This move+ Siena Aussie allows us to spend even more of our roster budget on the two biggest positions and needs."

Maybe you are right and Sadiq did not require a lot of NIL. I'm thinking he did. And that was money well spent.

I agree that the lion's share of the NIL left needs to targeted for bidding wars at the 5 and/or a PG.

Absolutely and With the staff we are bringing in Sadiq has the best shot at becoming a star at the 4 to go with a star at the 1. Sadiq is going to now be surrounded by far more teammates who approach the game and all aspects of it like he does. He won’t be on an island defending hard while others sit back and watch.
perfectly described. I was obviously big on the outside hire, but Gmac with the money he had backing him was too much to pass up and I Was fully on board with the decision once it all came to fruition. I was alway team Gmac>RED back then and would’ve supported Gmac over hop with less NIL FOR SURE, but regardless of that thinking GMAC has really impressed me thus far. I knew he would come out swinging, the man cares and wants to win more than any of us fanatics. It’ll all come down to x and o’s and talent evaluation at the top level but he’s hitting it out of the ballpark thus far.

Yeah I could’ve explained better haha my fault. Sadiq was definitely paid handsomely no doubt. .I meant more in general with all the moves thus far and retaining and paying Sadiq whatever he was paid + Siena kid instead of going out and getting the kid from Boise for example at a huge price tag or 2+ more substantial bigs. Sadiq allows flexibility down low. We can allocate the majority of our front court in a big time center.

I'd put my bet on Doty. 2 way player that plays with intensity.
I watched Siena v IU highlights and Doty was so relentless on the offensive glass and picked the pocket once of an IU player who got a rebound and instantly scored. He simply doesn’t have an off switch it’s so refreshing to watch. Also, folefac bodied IU big men and pushed them under the basket at will. Granted they got smacked by IU, but those two guys have IT

Hoping for a Sophomore jump, happy he's back. He's got all the physical tools to become a menace at the D1 level on defense and I think serviceable on offense.

I'd love for him to play a role like I do with my PF on 2K26. A player that prides themselves on defense and does all the dirty work and scores opportunistically.

Welcome back Sadiq!

As someone who knows what Doty is getting I assume we have about 7 million left for the rest of the roster.
i don't want to misinterpret your post but are you saying if we have $12m, doty got $5m? i don't think that's what you're saying is it?

Estimating what we are paying the existing players in the fold and I included Folefac and Moesch. I assume White is probably in the 1.5 million range. The Siena guys are cheap.

Just a hunch but with Melo and others around if there is a need to get over the hump on a certain player or players it’s not out of the realm of possibilities to get it done.

Well, TBH - I’d want Kingz & Kyle back more, but neither is an option, so yeah -
Sadiq is that dude.

Hoping he develops like a Jerami or Hak.
Yes, this. I hope he comes back an evolved player. Seems like he came in expecting to do the same things he did in high school, and found out you can't just cherrypick dunks, or run around and over little kids anymore. He needs strength and skills. A little quick, reliable pull up 12-footer would serve him well, as would refinement of that baby hook. Arinze should learn him up good.

I actually hope he doesn't start. For me to feel comfortable about our chances, we will need a better PF.

It’s really hard to care for some of these players when all they care about is the bottom dollar amount. He doesn’t deserve high end money in my opinion. I think someone suggested he had a hard time acclimating himself to northeast winters which is understandable. Perhaps his price is higher because he really wants to leave anyways
He told me that in Vegas. He loved Syracuse except for the snow so far, is what he said. That is all. Nothing less, nothing more. And how do you know he only cares about the bottom line? Some of them care for other things. They didn't ask for this system also that allows for this. So don't blame them. Most people would shop for the best deal. That could include money only, money and playing time, money coaching and playing time, money coaching playing time and a course of study. There is a lot that goes into these decisions.
