We played like crap, were in foul trouble for the first time all season, played without a key reserve, won a road game and are 16-0 and still #1 in the country. We will rebound and play a better game Saturday.

Oh yea and we covered.

Coach didn't want to play jsouth either. He had to because fab and christmas were in foul trouble

Absolutely right this is the Big East, and a road game in a place we have always had tough games. The only thing negative that ruined my enjoyment of watching the game was the announcers of the game who were providence homers and Andy Katz who i just hate with a passion. I could not enjoy watching the game so i guess ill enjoy watching the replays of the game. Go Orange

The debbie downers will be bringing up this game all year long..."they look good, but remember they were only up 2 against a crappy providence team at halftime" lol

games like this just solidify for me even more that we're the best team in the country, moreso than if we blew them out by 30 like depaul. providence was making shots, they kept coming back, but we never paniced and always had an answer.

we probably played our best game of the season offensively (especially in the half court). we shot about 80% in the second half. I guess its all perspective.

It was nice to hear Don Orsillo's voice in the middle of winter :D

I don't think we played like crap. We were pretty efficient on the offensive end. Defense was a little suspect tonight, but I kind of expect that seeing how this was our second road game within 4 days. Still getting our "travel legs".

I give credit to Prov - they played well, but we were just too deep and talented for them.

played uninspired defense on the road, took providence's best punch and still won by double figures. crazy how good we are. I'll take it.

Horrible game on our part. We should have lit Providence up. The fact that we can play that poorly, and still cover is amazing though.

We did shoot it well. Thank god for that. Just wasnt a typical game. Had to duct tape it together but a win is a win and I am pleased to see that.

WE are also No. 1 in the country and are going to get everyone's best shot...

And the officiating was really suspect (especially first 10 minutes of second half).

So absolutely no credit to providence for making shots and continuing to play hard? We should have won 87-53 right?

Lack of Baye definitely hurt us for this game. Rak hasn't been playing good lately. Looks like he's struggling with the jump to the Big East. The potential is there for him to be good, but he has a ton to work on.

yeah, not what we have become used to (at least not lately). officials really affected the flow.

We just won the What game guys! We beat a game Prov team, the BE front office and the refs! We are that good everybody! That was a game the BE front office paid to see us lose. LMAO>

I meant to say like crap defensively. Better in the second half. Guards really carried us tonight. Hit some huge shots.

Make no mistake, we just took Providence's best shot and it isn't easy to do that and win(let alone by 14) on the road in conference. Providence shot better than they have, they executed very well, their game plan was very good, they got breaks from the refs in my opinion. I mean, we played this game without a center for a long time. I'm impressed that we won by 14.

They had a trip to the west followed by a trip to the east in just a few days. It isn't easy for a team, but SU won by double digits on the road with their C game tonight, which is encouraging if you ask me.

Rest up, pack the Dome on Saturday, and run Marquette outta the gym.

I suspect a much different game when we play them in the Dome.

Providence is a offensive team. Curious if we practiced more offense and worked on outgunning them in practice.

Oh and the refs game them ALOT of help. Probably atleast a 7 bad call differential in their favor. From there guards pushing off to charges not being called to chippy fouls on Xmas. And I didn't even catch the ones on our layups.

Providence shot the ball well! Attached the Zone better than any team this year! We played without a key reserve and won by 14 on the road! Perspective people! Perspective!

What happened to Triche? Boeheim gives him the longest rope in America and when he gets rolling he sits for 10 min? Weird.
