The first responsible thing he has done in this case. Does he still think it wasn't the job of ESPN to bring the tape out earlier and give it to authorities?

He also said that Laurie told SU in 2005 that Davis was a liar and none of it was true. So SU appears to be in the clear.

Now that ESPN know's concrete that they have a legit story, they can cover both sides. I think it's only good that this tape came out to be honest.
Thats some pretty blunt things being discussed on the tape, that unless ESPN experts found some suspect editing of the tape and weren't certain of its validity, is hard to imagine how they couldn't have brought the information on the tape out, especially since Davis had already made the accusations and SU not once but twice investigated and said there was no evidence. If the tape had come out at the time, certainly something would have happened. The tape would have gotten examined more thoroughly and been deemed valid or doctored, and if valid would have been pretty hard to have overlooked. Either way this whole story has had some strange twists. Some of the accusations, of going on trips and staying in Fines room should have been able to have been confirmed if that happened.
