A native of Hudson Falls, N.Y., Ryan played defensive back and outside linebacker at Hamilton College, where he graduated and earned his degree in American studies in 1994. He also earned a master's degree in higher education administration from Albany.

With that resume, how great would it have been to have him on the staff both for, and going into, last season? I suspect things might’ve looked a little different, but we will never know. So instead, let us dream about what could be!
