Tucker is going to be our lead back for the next 3-4 years. I ain’t mad about it.

After this year, I think you have to move JJ to the slot. We need all the playmakers we can get on the offense on the field at once. JJ needs space to work his magic, his him with some slants, screens and sweeps and he’ll break some lose.

We’ll be fine at running back. You’ll have Tucker, Lutz, Hough and could always put JJ back there if there are injuries. Plus if any of Pierre, Howard or Adams come back we’ll be fine.

Why not have two awesome running backs?

I'm still convinced we're not getting the ball to Jordan where he can really do damage, and that running back can be the right position for him.

I admit I like Tucker more as the lead HB going forward but they should still stick JJ at HB and give him some touches. JJ prolly isn't a polished route runner yet so putting him at Slot WR doesn't make a lot of sense outside of sweep plays.

Tuck looked great. He definitely took advantage of the moment. Now can he do it again? I am guessing yes but I am not saying we have turned any RB corners until we see a few more games.
In my opinion and I love Babers but there should be zero issues and I mean zero finding ways to get JJ good touches in a game. Btwn Babers and our new OC they should be able to script him easily. If we don't see that in the coming weeks I will be amazed.

Tucker reminds me of watching Joe Morris...back in the day.

And i was in Joe’s class as a frosh. I remember Maloney moved Art Monk to WR to take advantage of Morris when he came in- a backfield of Monk, Morris and Bill Hurley at QB..
We need to incorporate JJ in the backfield. If he gets the slot and room to operate like Irv Phillips...the sky’s the limit!

Hopefully we see some of Jordan and Tucker on the field at the same time.

jordan needs space to operate at this point in his career. If we can scheme him into space he can and will make guys miss, just the one flat route he turned up field today for an extra 15 yards is example of that.

Tucker in space is good, but he sees the small gaps our OL creates in the middle and hits those holes hard. He’s the guy we need to “dive” into the line.

Like many have edoressed6, would love to see JJ in the slot. If we don't it's a blatant disregard of his skills.

Thank you, and that's what we do and I dig, developing those 3 stars. We forget that there are only a limited # of 4-5 star guys and most programs, even the big guys rely on 3 star talent to make up a significant part of the roster.

Possibly. I recall that there was a ton of speculation on the reasons and there was one person who seemed to have knowledge of it and he implied there was some legitimate reasons. If he needed to move on so be it and good luck to him. Hopefully Tucker will be the real deal for us.

I thought Dino really characterized Tucker's performance well: "Whatever your style is, you have to get more than what the play is blocked, and that’s what Sean Tucker was doing.” We really haven't seen that from our other backs through the first three games. Tucker also seems to have a knack for falling forward when being tackled and those extra few yards can make a big difference in converting a 3rd down. Excited to see him play.

Guess it was covid for the 2 rbs. Surprising bc the university has done an exemplary job with the covid thing. We never truly know, could be other reasons.
