I’ll also add - “golf shot”.

As in, “that’s a fine golf shot!”

Well, duh!!
(s)he is playing golf, on a golf course, and hit a golf ball with a golf club.
You don’t need to specify the type of sport that shot was.

And a minor pet peeve - golfers calling a course a “track”.

Oh, did you ever play XYZ course?
Yeah, that’s a great track.

Oh really?
I don’t see a track anywhere.
No horses or humans running.
No railroad.
I was gong to add the golf one drives me bonkers! Yeah we know what sport we're watching... My dad can't understand why it drives me so crazy :p

Just me, I'm not a fan of flag stick when you can just call it the pin. Always gets a laugh with the guys when I ask them to get the flag stick for me.

Every injury now being referred to as just the body part.

"He's dealing with an ankle".

Announcers have added too many words for some things and removed too many for other things.
I love it when they do that - "She's in the locker room with an ankle"
Meanwhile, I'm sitting on my couch thinking that it makes sense that having only one ankle would make it hard to play, but being more concerned about the quality of life of the athlete from here on out.

“Have a good game” for people that don’t know golf. Oh lord it gives me an automatic neck ache and attitude problem lol

I like Fran Fraschilla most of the time, but can't stand when he goes into coach mode and says things like "we call that a ______" or "that's what us coaches call ______." Because:

A: No one else calls it that.
B: You aren't a coach.
C: You haven't been one for 25 years.
D: You were fired after two seasons from the only high-major job you had.
E: You won one (1) NCAA Tournament game, and it was 30+ years ago.
