Here is my annual comparison of players on the SU team that recently completed its season to past players. This is based on the numbers in the SU Media Guide, (also on the SU athletic website), which date back to the 1982-83 season. The abbreviations are: m = minutes per game; p, r, a, s and b are points, rebounds, assists, steals and blocks per 40 minutes of play. + = the total of those stats. Mfg, mft, to and pf are missed field goals, missed free throws, turnovers and personal fouls per 40 minutes. - = the total of those stats. NP= “Net Points”, the positives, (+) minus the negatives (-). OE = offensive efficiency, points minus mfg and mft. FG= floor game, NP – OE.

Comment: All these guys were lanky jump shooters. I think most of them were better all-round players than James but he could rebound and play defense when he put his mind to it. His numbers most closely resemble Greene’s but it’s not a good thing to have the best comparison for your senior year to be with somebody else’s freshman year.

I thought you were going to say that he looks like Serge Ibaka from OKC. I think they have very similar faces.
