Class of 2025 SF London Jemison (CT) to Alabama

You don’t stop recruiting #3 until #1and #2 have decided.
Yeah, could be gamesmanship to get someone to commit and let them know the spot won't be open forever. The fact that Jemison has no visit scheduled to Syracuse tells us a lot.

This is a little interesting as I didn't think we were still pursing him but just monitoring -

So are we recruiting Shon as a possible guard/forward and Jemison as the 3?

It would seem we're pivoting back. Must not be going well with the other options.

Maybe its a first to commit between Shon and London, cant see them taking both.
Thinking possibly the same. Either feeling less confident with Abaev or they are putting the screws to both to try to lock one or the other down.. I think landing either would be a very good outcome.

Yeah, Shon and London are both wings/SFs. Both will be tough gets, although if I had to venture a guess, I think that Syracuse has a better shot right now with Shon, but I don't have inside intel here. As mentioned, SU coaches have seen Shon during an open gym, and London twice of late.

If we were blessed to get both players, it definitely could work with both on the floor at the same time. With this era of position-less basketball, why can't we play 2 small forwards? Some teams put 3 and sometimes 4 guards on the floor. Besides, their style of play is different with Shon being more of a point forward.

We will get one if we get them. Kiyan gets the other spot.

I'm sure we would love it. I doubt they would. With SW in the fold and all out push for Kiyan, that is the 2 and 4 accounted for. In this era top 50 players are not going to sign up to being a backup to a classmate.

Why is there just "the other spot"? We will lose a lot of guys at the end of the season due to their eligibility being up and other guys leave early or transfer.

We are not having a class of all freshmen. It will be 4 at most. The rest of the guys will come from the portal. You cannot win without them. Red has said as much.

I get your point - I'm so excited to hear we are again talking to London along with knowing we've got a good shot at getting Shon, I totally forgot that SW is already in the fold. :) Greed is good!

This is especially true with borerline NBA upperclassmen staying in school because of NIL. A number of folks lament NIL, but I think it will really increase the quality of the college sports, especially basketball. IMO, surefire high picks and those uninterested in or incompetent at the academic side of college will be the one's leaving. Others will stay, get paid, get educated, and get game time. Older, stronger, more mature college players almost always mean a better consumer product.

Armando Bacot who is now on an exhibit 10 contract with the Grizzles, recently stated that he made over 2 million plus in NIL while at UNC. That is good money for a solid 4 year college/borderline NBA player.
Kiyan is skilled but underweight and being set financially being Melo's son and already independently rich by way of pre-college NIL deals, there's no need for him to rush and try to make it in the NBA. He is not a one and done or two year college player. Hope we can get at least 3 years out of him (that is of course if he commits).

FWIW, Bacot played 5 years at UNC due to the extra “grace” year granted by the NCAA to cover the year affected by COVID.

You're forgetting Anthony.

Committed to Bama. I had a lot of high hopes for this class, just like the last 3 or 4 classes. Gotta be honest, shaping up to be pretty disappointed. If they don’t land Kiyan this board will expload
